A conductive paste composition comprises (i) an inorganic powder comprising at least a conductive powder, (ii) at least one microgel polymer, and (iii) a solvent. The paste composition may be used in a process for manufacturing an electrical device comprising: preparing a substrate; applying the conductive paste onto the substrate in a preselected pattern; and heating the applied conductive paste to form a conductive structure that provides an electrode for connecting the device. The paste composition beneficially permits the formation of narrow, high aspect ratio features in the conductive structure.

Disclosed is a thermoplastic melt-mixed composition including: a) a polyamide resin; b) 0.50 to about 5.0 weight percent of one or more amino acid selected from the group consisting of primary amino acids and secondary amino acids; said amino acid having no hydroxyl groups and no more than one carboxylic acid; optionally, c) one or more polyepoxy compound including at least two or more epoxy groups; d) reinforcing agent; e) polymeric toughener; and f) further additives; wherein the weight percents of components a), b), c) d) e) and f) are based on the total weight of the thermoplastic melt-mixed composition. Disclosed is a thermoplastic melt-mixed composition including: a) a polyamide resin; b) a polyetherol compound provided by reacting: b1) one or more polyepoxy compound having at least two or more epoxy groups; and b2) one or more polyhydric alcohols having two or more hydroxyl groups; c) 10 to 60 weight percent of reinforcing agent; d) 0 to 30 weight percent polymeric toughener; and e) 0 to 10 weight percent further additives. Also disclosed are molded parts derived from the composition.

Disclosed is a thermoplastic melt-mixed composition including: a) a polyamide resin; b) a poly(amino acid)-polyol compound provided by reacting: b1) one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of primary amino acids and secondary amino acids and combinations of these; the amino acid having no more than one hydroxyl group; and b2) one or more polyepoxy compound comprising at least two or more epoxy groups; the poly(amino acid)-polyol compound having a range of at least 10 percent conversion of epoxy equivalents of component (b1) up to, but excluding, the gel point of the components b1) and b2) and c) reinforcing agent; and, optionally, d) polymeric toughener; and f) further additives. Processes for making the composition are also disclosed.

Thermoplastic melt-mixed composition with epoxy-amino acid compound heat stabilizer and processes for their preparation

Blends comprising 65-95 wt % poly(trimethylene terephthalate-co-sebacate), 5 to 35 wt % polylactic acid and a chain extender are provided that exhibit greatly increased melt strength compared to that of poly(trimethylene terephthalate-co-sebacate) alone. Such improvements allow these compositions to be processed readily by melt-blowing, which is useful for packaging and for preparing items such as biodegradable garbage bags.

Copolyester blends with improved melt strength

A composite sheet is manufactured by depositing a multi-layer coating on the outer surface of a substrate, the coating comprising a metal layer and an outer polymeric layer formed from a precursor comprising a composition capable of being polymerized and/or cross-linked by free-radical processes. After the precursor is applied, the composite sheet is exposed to beam radiation and ozone, which both promote conversion of the precursor. The function of the cured polymeric layer includes protecting the metal layer from corrosion. The use of both beam radiation and ozone promotes substantially full conversion and curing of the precursor, even in portions of the substrate that are geometrically shadowed from incident beam radiation.
