A battery module is provided. The battery module includes a plurality of battery cell assemblies configured to electrically communicate with each other. Each battery cell assembly has an electrode stack enclosed by a case. The electrode stack is positioned in the case to form one or more peripheral spaces between the electrode stack and the case. Support members are positioned adjacent to each of the battery cell assemblies to contact a desired portion of the electrode stack. The support members are configured to focus a compressive force on a desired portion of the electrode stack. The compressive force urges gases formed during operation of the electrode stack into the peripheral spaces within the case.

Battery module for mitigating gas accumulation and methods thereof

Machining of aluminum workpieces with diamond or diamond-like carbon-surface coated tools may be conducted in an atmosphere containing hydrogen gas at a partial pressure effective for hydrogen to react with carbon atoms at the surface to form C&#x2014;H bonds that resist adherence of aluminum to the tool surface. Suitably, hydrogen or a hydrogen-containing gas mixture is confined at the interface of tool and workpieces at the machining site. Hydrogen partial pressure may be determined for a tool-workpiece-machining temperature combination by calculation or experiment.

Machining of aluminum surfaces

A coated seal for sealing parts in a vehicle engine is disclosed herein. The seal includes a seal body portion including glass fiber-filled polytetrafluoroethylene, carbon-filled polytetrafluoroethylene, molybdenum disulfide-filled polytetrafluoroethylene, bronze-filled polytetrafluoroethylene or combinations thereof; and a coating portion including either expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, carbon-filled polytetrafluoroethylene, or combinations thereof. A method of using a coated seal in a vehicle engine is also disclosed herein. A system to achieve decreased friction, decreased noise, and improved wear in injector seals in a vehicle engine is also disclosed herein.
