A method and a system for summarization of short comments are provided. The system comprises a memory to store a plurality of comments. Each of the plurality of comments including an overall rating and at least one phrase. The system also includes one or more processors to implement an aspect module to identify a head term based on a portion of the plurality of comments and to map the portion of the plurality of comments to an aspect corresponding to an attribute of an entity. The one or more processor also implement an extraction module to extract, from the portion of the plurality of comments, a representative phrase corresponding to the aspect.

Summarization of short comments

A method and a system for summarization of short comments are provided. The system comprises a memory to store a comments collection. The comments collection stores a plurality of comments for later access. The comments respectively include an overall rating and at least one phrase. The system also includes one or more processors to implement an aspect module to map a portion of the plurality of comments to a first aspect corresponding to an attribute of the entity. The one or more processor also implementing a rating module to determine an aspect rating corresponding to the first aspect based on the respective overall rating of the portion of the plurality of comments.

User generated reviews and scores associated with the reviews may be used to train a review scoring model with textual features of the reviews. The review scoring model may be used to predict scores for newly received reviews. One or more constraints based on social networking application data associated with an author of a review may be used to adjust the predicted score of the review.

Assessing quality of user reviews

A system and article are disclosed for objective-function based sentiment. In one example, the system includes a set of domain information, and a computer programmed with executable instructions which operate a set of modules. The modules include a sentiment polarization module for identifying a domain-aspect opinion-word pair within a set of domain data, and assigning a sentiment polarity score to the domain-aspect opinion-word pair based on an objective function which includes sentiment data from the domain information.

The system also includes one or more processors to implement an aspect module to identify a first head term and a second head term based on a first portion of the comments and to map the first head term and the second head term into an aspect cluster. The one or more processor also implement a rating module to predict an aspect rating corresponding to the aspect cluster based on the respective overall ratings of the portion of the comments.
