A microfabricated electrochemical gas sensor is disclosed. The sensor includes electrodes produced from conductor layers, a capping layer, microcavities through the conductor layers and the capping layer, a cavity connecting the microcavities, and an electrolyte filling in the space created by the cavity and the microcavities in the substrate. The microcavities allow gases to pass through but retain the electrolyte through surface tension.

Microfabricated electrochemical gas sensor

This invention describes an electrochemical gas sensor that utilizes microfabrication to achieve miniaturization without using a membrane. The sensor is comprised of thin film electrodes and insulators, and micro cavities in them. The micro cavities are filled with a liquid electrolyte that is kept in the micro cavities by surface tension.

An eddy current probe for nondestructive evaluation of an object made of an electrically conductive material with a planar or curved surface, comprising: an excitation portion, consisting of a plurality of multi-turn conductive coils and a bar core, the bar core having a primary surface in proximity to the outer surface of the object to be inspected, each multi-turn coil formed by winding a conductor along the core with each wound equally spaced and parallel on the primary surface of the core, multi-turn coils intersecting from one to another on the primary surface of the core and forming a plurality of congruent grid shapes with the winding conductors, each multi-turn coil is energized by an AC current with each of AC currents at a phase difference from one to another; and a sensing portion, consisting of a plurality of magnetic field sensors with each of the sensors positioned in proximity to the symmetric center of congruent grid shapes, each magnetic field sensor having a sensitivity axis is placed with its sensitivity axis in the direction substantially orthogonal to the primary surface.

Eddy current probe with 3-D excitation coils

A method and system are provided for remotely monitoring the open and close status of a garage door via the internet based on the internet of things concept and NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. The system includes a Door Monitoring & Controlling Device (DMCD) and a web based Advanced Door Management System. The DMCD contains a NFC module, and one or more NFC close/open status tags which work together to monitor the status of the garage door. The NFC tag in this system not only provides status signal but also provides network configure data that eliminates the need to make standalone device configurable for network connectability. The use of NFC technology here will reduce manufacturing cost significantly, and make the configuration easy. The method and system also enable users to remotely open and close the garage door via the internet.

Automatic garage door automatic monitoring and controlling system based on the internet of things concept and near field communication (NFC) technology

Systems, methods, and apparatus for configuring utility meters are provided. A meter configuration application may be executed by a device that includes one or more computers and that facilitates utility meter configuration. A plug-in module associated with a utility meter type may be received by the device. Based at least in part upon providing the plug-in module to the meter configuration application, a configuration file may be built for the utility meter type. The utility meter may then be configured utilizing the configuration file.

Systems, methods, and apparatus for utility meter configuration

An electrochemical piezoelectric sensor is disclosed. The sensor includes a piezoelectric substrate, three (or more) electrodes over a first surface of the substrate, and another electrode over a second (opposing) surface of the substrate. An ionic liquid in the form of a film is adhered, bound, immobilized, or otherwise positioned over the substrate and electrodes of the first surface. The ionic liquid film permits the absorption and detection of analytes from a gaseous sample, for environmental gases, example explosive vapors and/or explosive vapor species in the gaseous sample. Detection (optionally including analyte quantitation and qualitative identification) can be performed by both electrochemical and piezoelectric techniques using a single sensor. Systems incorporating and methods of using the electrochemical piezoelectric sensor also are disclosed.
