Proposed is a process and a plant for production of pure carbon monoxide and hydrogen by steam reforming of hydrocarbons, preferably methane or naphtha, to afford a raw synthesis gas and subsequent, multistage workup, purification and fractionation of the raw synthesis gas to afford the target products, wherein the material streams obtained as by-products of the process chain are also to be advantageously utilized. This is achieved according to the invention by providing the recirculating compressor provided for recycling of the by-product material streams with a plurality of parallel, independently operable compressor stages.

The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for producing an olefin-containing feed stream for a steam reforming plant. According to certain embodiments of the invention, the olefin-containing hydrocarbon starting material is for this purpose vaporized and catalytically hydrogenated. The hydrogenation product stream obtained is separated into a gaseous reforming feed stream, which is fed to a steam reforming plant, and a gaseous recycle stream. As a result of the cooling according to the invention of the gaseous recycle stream down to at least partial condensation thereof and the separate recirculation of the gaseous partial recycle stream and of the liquid partial recycle stream, the procurement of a large and complicated circulation compressor is avoided and electric energy for operating this compressor is saved.

A process and a plant for cooling a synthesis gas produced by catalytic steam reformation of a hydrocarbonaceous feed gas, which is cooled by heat exchange with boiler feed water for its conversion into steam, by separating the resulting aqueous condensate, wherein the further cooling is effected in that the gas passes through several series-connected cooling stages and comprises the heat exchange with the feed gas, with degassed and non-degassed boiler feed water for generating the steam required for the steam reformation, and with ambient air, and wherein condensate obtained after the last cooling stage is separated from the gas and the gas is discharged for the further treatment, wherein at least after a further cooling stage upstream of the last cooling stage a hot aqueous condensate is separated from the gas.

Granular inventory management with conflict resolution at a target is provided. A client receives inventory management requests, as default settings and/or from a server. Each request includes action instance(s), which have an action key, action type, action detail(s), a precedence, and a sequence number. The client identifies a conflict if two instances have the same action type but incompatible detail(s). The client resolves the conflict, based on precedence and sometimes also on sequence numbers. The client performs the resulting action instance(s), and results are sent back for inclusion in an inventory report. Action details may specify a schedule for recurring actions. A precedence may be specified by an administrator or be built-in. Default and other requests may be defined by viewing inventory classes in a graphical user interface, entering an action based on inventory class(es), and entering target device group selection(s). Inventory classes may be captured from a live system.

In some embodiments, a wireless management service provides the capability to manage connectivity between a device and one or more wireless networks on a differentiated basis. For example, network profiles may be managed in a way that is influenced by the identity of the user, such that profiles which are customized for a specific user may be established. Connectivity may also be managed in a way that is influenced by a session type ongoing on a device, such that when certain events occur (e.g., a request by one user to connect to or disconnect from a wireless network is processed), wireless connectivity employed by other users sharing the device is appropriately managed.

A method and system for controlling the provisioning of a device with information for accessing services of a wireless service provider via a wireless network is provided. The provisioning system initially stores automatic provisioning information on the device that includes the identification of wireless service providers that have the capability to automatically provision the device. When a user of the device wants to subscribe to a service of a service provider, the provisioning system requests an automatic provisioning service of the service provider to provide information describing available services and information needed to subscribe to those services. When the user selects a service and provides the needed information, the provisioning system retrieves provisioning information for the selected service from the service provider. The provisioning system stores the provisioning information on the device so that the device can then be used to access the selected service of the service provider.

A computer system that can configure itself to establish a network connection. Configuration is performed by identifying a connection profile with information from a combination of sources. Information may be obtained from user input, network traffic monitoring and a discovery process involving attempts to establish a connection with different profiles. The computer system may perform the configuration process under the control of software that performs an automated configuration process is adapted to receive extensions for operation on computers with hardware components that have non-standardized configuration options. Extensions for networks operating according to non-standardized security protocol extensions are also possible.

Extensible network discovery

It is determined whether a mobile user device is within transmission range of one or hidden networks. A list of known networks may be accessed, the list including broadcast and hidden networks. For the hidden networks, the network connection component may instruct a network interface to actively probe for the hidden networks. If the response is received for a communication corresponding to a particular network, then it may be considered that the mobile user interface is within transmission range of the hidden network. If auto-connection logic is activated, a preference order may be applied to select which of the detected broadcasts and/or hidden networks to connect. A user interface displays broadcast and hidden networks determined to be within transmission range of the mobile user device. The user device also displays hidden networks for which it has not yet been attempted to determine whether the hidden networks are in range.

Systems and methods for handling a transition of a roaming mobile user device (i.e., a roaming client) from one access point (AP) to a target AP, referred to herein as soft inter-AP handoff. This technique involves a second mobile user device that is already connected with the target AP, called a roaming coordinator, assisting in handoff coordination between the APs. This coordination includes assisting the roaming client in establishing a client-to-client connection to relay data traffic during the handoff, while the roaming client establishes a connection with the target AP using traditional techniques. Soft inter-AP handoff allows a faster hand-off between APs than traditional techniques, and may reduce jitter in communications with the roaming device during the transition.

Coordinating a transition of a roaming client between wireless access points using another client in physical proximity

A network enabled computer receives connection profile information in a generic form and creates one or more native mode profiles to establish connections. By accepting profile information in a generic form, profile information can be readily provided from one or more ways, including from a policy server, through a user interface or from a third party application. The profile information can be provided with an order of precedence so that profile information from different sources may be combined appropriately. Additionally, the profile information may be provided in an extensible format to allow profile information to be distributed to multiple computers, even if some have different hardware or software configurations and are not programmed to recognize extensions of the profile information.

Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) based Phase Lock Loops (PLLs) are provided for use in navigational signal receivers. In an embodiment, a navigation receiver correlates a received navigational signal with a locally generated signal into correlation samples, e.g., one-millisecond correlation samples. The navigation receiver includes a FFT based PLL that corrects phase shifts in the correlation samples due to the Doppler frequency by considering both the Doppler frequency and its rate of change, which are obtained from a FFT computation with interpolation. The phase corrected correlation samples are then integrated over a length of a navigation data bit, e.g., 20 milliseconds, to determine the sign of the data bit of the received signal. In another embodiment, a soft decision feedback technique involving integration extending over the present data bit and several prior data bits is used to determine the sign of a present data bit of the received signal.

Fast fourier transform based phase locked loop for navigational receivers

A computer-based switch enables automated testing of the fail-over and load-balancing operations of a cluster of network servers. The computer-based switch includes a control component, a switching component, and a plurality of network adapters each for forming a connection with a network server. The switching component directs network communication data received from clients on an external network to the network servers through the network adapters. The network adapters are selectively disabled and re-enabled by the control component to create connection failure and recovery conditions. The switching component is also programmable to operate on the network communication data passing therethrough to create other test conditions such as communication delay, data loss, data reordering, and data corruption. The switching component also allows communication flows from the individual network servers to the clients to be monitored for determining whether load balancing of the servers is properly performed.
