The location server may determine a first position of a second mobile device during a first time window before the first scheduled time. The location server may configure the second mobile device to perform positioning operations during a second time window corresponding to the first scheduled time to assist in the determination of the position of the first mobile device at the first scheduled time.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a classification of a link established between the UE and a network node. The classification may indicate whether the link is associated with a reciprocity. The reciprocity may include a beam correspondence and channel reciprocity. The classification of the link may be a binary classification. The classification of the link may be based at least in part on a metric associated with the link. The link may be associated with the reciprocity depending on one or more link characteristics associated with the link. Numerous other aspects are described.

Classifying links established between a user equipment and a network node via a reconfigurable intelligent surface

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. In some aspects, the apparatus may be a user equipment (UE) or a component thereof; however, in some other aspects, the apparatus may be a base station or a component thereof. The apparatus may be configured as a wireless node that configures an intermediary apparatus to reflect signals for the wireless node and another wireless node. The apparatus may be further configured to communicate a set of sensing signals with the other wireless node using the intermediary apparatus. The apparatus may be further configured to sense an object based on a set of measurements associated with the set of sensing signals.

Peer-to-peer sensing assisted by reconfigurable intelligent surfaces

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, for measurement and reporting procedures associated with a sidelink positioning reference signal (SL-PRS). In one aspect, a first user equipment (UE), which may function as a sidelink anchor node, may transmit an SL-PRS to a second UE in accordance with a slot format or structure that is dedicated for SL-PRS transmissions. The first UE may select resources for the transmission of the SL-PRS via sensing and exclusion or using a set of resources that are dedicated for SL-PRS transmissions. The second UE may receive the SL-PRS and use the SL-PRS to acquire positioning information, in accordance with an observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA)-based positioning method, or may transmit a second SL-PRS to the first UE to facilitate acquisition of positioning information at the first UE, in accordance with a round-trip-time (RTT)-based positioning method.

Techniques for sidelink sensing and positioning

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmitted by a base station. The UE may receive system information that includes reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) or repeater assisted initial access information that identifies a set of SSBs that are associated with an RIS or a repeater and a modulation signature associated with the RIS or the repeater. The UE may selectively perform initial access using the SSB or search for another SSB based at least in part on the RIS or repeater assisted initial access information. In an aspect, a position estimation entity determines a set of position estimates associated with a set of user equipments (UEs), obtains first measurement information associated with a set of signals as reflected off of a target intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), determines a position estimate of the target IRS based on the set of position estimates and the first measurement information, and determines an orientation, relative to a common orientation reference frame, of the target IRS based on the set of position estimates and at least the first measurement information.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. During an operation for discovering reconfigurable surfaces, a sensing signal may be transmitted. Based on the sensing signal being transmitted, another signal may be detected at the device that transmitted the sensing signal, another device, or both. The device that detects the signal may combine the detected signal with a modulation sequence that is associated with a reconfigurable surface, where the reconfigurable surface may be assigned a set of unique modulation sequences and configured to apply a modulation sequence to received signals. Based on combining the detected signal with the modulation sequence, the device may determine whether the reconfigurable surface is present within a geographic region.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, via first frequency ranges and first time periods, a plurality of sidelink control blocks that each indicate a sidelink positioning reference signal burst pattern for one or more sidelink UEs. The UE may receive, within a second frequency range and during a second time period, a plurality of multiplexed sidelink positioning reference signals from the one or more sidelink UEs in accordance with the sidelink positioning reference signal burst patterns. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Repetitions of a reference signal may be transmitted by a first device. In some examples, the repetitions may be quasi-colocated with one another, share an antenna port, or both. The repetitions of the reference signal may arrive at a reconfigurable surface. The reconfigurable surface may apply a modulation sequence to the repetitions of the reference signal and output modulated repetitions of the reference signal in a direction based on a reflective state of the reconfigurable surface. A signal including the modulated repetitions of the reference signal may be received by a second device and combined with the modulation sequence used by the reconfigurable surface to obtain a combined signal. The combined signal may be used to determine, for the reconfigurable surface, information about a channel between the first device and the second device.

Unified measurement configurations for cross-link interference, self-interference, and wireless sensing

Positioning of a target user equipment (UE) using a mobile anchor node is supported by providing motion information for the mobile anchor node and/or measurement restrictions. The target UE receives motion information for the mobile anchor node, which may be an ordered list of points or, e.g., a motion path. The target UE may generate positioning measurements using the motion information for the mobile anchor node to determine the position of the mobile anchor node when it transmits positioning reference signals (PRS). The target UE may receive an indication of position measurement restriction if the mobile anchor node is moving. The target UE may receive PRS over a plurality of PRS occasions. The target UE may restrict measurement to only one PRS occasion, may generate and separately report measurements for each PRS occasions or may combine a plurality of measurements using filter coefficients provided by a location server.
