This application provides a communication method. In the method, a first node receives a first radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message from a first donor node through a second node. After the first node receives the first RRC reconfiguration message from the second node, the first node receives first indication information from the second node. When the first node determines, based on the first indication information, that the first RRC reconfiguration message becomes effective, the first node establishes an RRC connection to a second donor node based on the first RRC reconfiguration message. In the method, the first node and the second node are nodes in a group that performs group handover, the group handover is a cross-donor node group handover, the second node is a head node or the second node is connected to a head node, and the second node is a parent node of the first node.

Communication method applied to integrated access and backhaul IAB system and communication apparatus

Embodiments of this application provide a node handover method, in which a source donor node sends a handover request message to a target donor node, where the handover request message includes context information of an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node and context information of at least one terminal device. The source donor node receives a handover response message sent by the target donor node, where the handover response message includes an identifier of an accepted terminal device in the at least one terminal device and/or an identifier of a rejected terminal device in the at least one terminal device.

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for controlling wireless backhaul link. In one example method, a first device determines to manage a first radio link control (RLC) bearer on a wireless backhaul link between a first backhaul node and a second device, where the second device is a parent node of the first backhaul node, the first device is a centralized unit (CU) of a donor base station, and the second device is a distributed unit (DU) of the donor base station; the second device is a second backhaul node, and the first device is a donor base station; or the first device is a CU of a donor base station, and the second device is a second backhaul node. A communication method includes a first IAB node receives a first message from a CU of an IAB donor, where the first message indicates the first IAB node to be handed over from a first parent node to a second parent node, and the first message includes a first IP address of the first IAB node. The disclosure provides routing methods and apparatuses. One example method includes that a first node receives a data packet. The first node determines a Backhaul Adaptation Protocol (BAP) header in the data packet, where the BAP header includes a BAP address of a destination node of the data packet and first information. The first node sends the data packet including the BAP header to the destination node based on the BAP header.

A data packet transmission method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: An IAB donor determines first configuration information, where the first configuration information is used to indicate a first backhaul link BH RLC channel, and the first BH RLC channel is used to transmit a control protocol data unit PDU at a backhaul adaptation protocol BAP layer. The IAB donor sends the first configuration information to an IAB node. According to the foregoing procedure, the IAB donor indicates, by using the first configuration information, the IAB node to send the control PDU at the BAP layer through the first BH RLC channel, to implement bearer mapping when the IAB node needs to send the control PDU at the BAP layer.
