An inkjet chip including a substrate, a plurality of control elements, an insulating layer, a plurality of first conductive patterns, a plurality of second conductive patterns and a plurality of heaters is provided. The insulating layer is disposed on the control element and has a plurality of openings. The openings each have a first length in a first direction. Each first conductive pattern has a first sidewall overlapping one of the openings and is electrically connected between one of the control elements and one of the heaters. Each second conductive pattern has a second sidewall overlapping the one of the openings and is electrically connected to one of the heaters. A distance in the first direction is included between the first sidewall and the second sidewall opposing to each other. The distance is less than the first length. A thermal bubble inkjet printhead adopting the inkjet chip is also provided.

An inkjet print head chip. The chip has a first column of firing chambers and a second column of firing chambers in which each firing chamber comprises a heater and an ink channel. A first ink slot is formed between the first column of firing chambers and the periphery of the chip, in which the first ink slot comprises a plurality of first ink sub-slots and each first ink sub-slot provides ink to part of heaters in the first column of firing chambers. A second ink slot is formed between the second column of firing chambers and the periphery of the chip to provide ink to the heaters in the second column of firing chambers. A dry film is patterned on the entire surface of the chip to separate the first ink sub-slots.

A common print head module that can accommodate either a single-color or multi-color inkjet print head comprises an ink cartridge having an ink output, and an inkjet chip arranged over the ink output. The ink cartridge internally includes ink channels that terminate through a surface of the ink output, wherein two adjacent ink channels are spaced apart by a channel wall. The channel wall has a top surface lower than the surface of the ink output where the ink channels terminate. The ink channels communicate with ink slots of the inkjet chip. When accommodating a single-color print head, the ink flows out through the ink channels over the channel wall. When accommodating a multi-color print head, the ink slots of the inkjet chip have slot walls that are sealed with the channel walls such that inks of different colors can be separately ejected through the ink slots.

Inkjet print head

The present invention is an ink pressure adjustment device of inkjet pen; the device is utilized to adjust negative pressure in an ink cartridge mainly through an expandable and shrinkable gasbag installed in the ink cartridge, and a tension valve attached on the surface of the gasbag. The tension valve can open or close automatically an air hole that communicates atmosphere and the inner part of ink cartridge via the gasbag according to the expansion and shrinkage of the gasbag, causing a part of atmosphere to enter the ink cartridge so as to adjust the negative pressure of the ink cartridge and not only can prevent ink from leaking but also prevent the negative pressure from being too large to fail the inkjet printing.

A function test device for optical print head heaters in thermal bubble printers, which includes: a test end power supply to provide the power needed for the test device; a linear optical coupling device serially connected between a pulse power supply for driving a print head circuit and the print head heater to detect variation of a triggering current; and an amplification circuit to amplify an output signal of the linear optical coupling device and send the signal to a microprocessor.

Function test device for optical print head heaters in thermal bubble printers

An inkjet printhead chip structure and a method of estimating the working life through the detection of any defect on the chip structure. The method includes laying a metallic layer such as a tantalum layer over the chip and then shaping the metallic layer into a protective layer circuit. A portion of the metal protective layer covers the heating elements embedded in the chip. In printing, the heating elements heat up the ink to produce jets of ink. However, a portion of the heat is transferred to the metal protective layer thereby raising its temperature. Heat on the metal protective layer combined with any strayed residual ink bubbles that impinge upon the surface of the metal protective layer causes the metal to age. Since resistance of the metal protective layer will increase proportionally to the amount of aging, a measurement of the resistance is capable of estimating how much longer a given chip is suitable for use. Furthermore, if this special circuit layout runs across each long side of an ink slot, any cracks along the direction of the ink slot are detectable during resistance measurement.

Chip structure of inkjet printhead and method of estimating working life through detection of defects

An ink container includes a casing and an ink reservoir. An air bag is set within the ink reservoir for pressure modulation, an air vent enabling air to enter or exit the air bag. The ink reservoir further includes a fixed piece, a helical spring and a restraining plate. The fixed piece has a first fixed surface fixed inside the casing and a second fixed surface. The helical spring has a first end connected to the second fixed surface and a second end. The restraining plate has a first surface connected to the second end of the helical spring and a second surface pressing on the air bag to clamp the air bag between the second surface of the restraining plate and the casing.

A method of prolonging the lifetime of a thermal-bubble-ink-jet print head. A first pulse is provided to a heater of the print head for generating a first bubble to expel an ink drop. A second pulse is provided to the heater after a delay time for generating a second bubble is generated. The second pulse is not large enough to expel another ink drop.

A holographic spectroscope for a two-motor reflection system for generating scanning patterns in which a light beam is first reflected by a first reflector connected to a first motor electrically connected to a first control circuit. A second reflector for reflecting the light beam reflected by the first reflector is connected to a second motor electrically connected to a second control circuit and to form scanning patterns. A holographic spectroscope for diffracting the scanning patterns is mounted in the optical path of the light beam from the second reflector. Therefore, the scanning patterns can be improved to be more variable.
