A capillary electrophoresis device as well as a process for fabrication of the device is disclosed. The capillary electrophoresis device comprises a device body structure having a plurality of reservoirs arrayed thereon for loading a sample, and a plurality of rows of grooves transversely defined to be connected with the reservoirs for receiving at least a capillary electrophoresis chip. The capillary electrophoresis chip comprises a straight main separation channel, an injection channel, and a plurality of sample transport channels defined thereon in liquid communication with the reservoirs. After an electrode means is applied, the sample can be transported into the separation channel for detection and analysis.

Capillary electrophoresis devices

An apparatus providing a fluidic cartridge including a first and second substrate and an intermediate interlayer is disclosed. The intermediate interlayer is sealedly interfaced between the first and second substrates to form therein a plurality of channels of capillary dimensions. The apparatus further includes an open reservoir, a pump chamber and a reaction chamber. The open reservoir and reaction chamber are each connected to the pump chamber through the channels. The open reservoir and reaction chamber are in fluid communication with each other via the channels. The apparatus further provides a fluid flow controlling structure, formed in the fluidic cartridge, which restricts a flow of a fluid through the reaction chamber to one direction. The apparatus further provides a linear actuator for providing a pumping action in the pump chamber to pump the fluid to recirculate from the reaction chamber to the open reservior via the channels and pump chamber.

Miniaturized fluid delivery and analysis system

This specification disclosed a partially closed microfluidic system and a fluid driving method. The microfluidic system is comprised of a substrate with microfluidic elements and a thin film. A feature of this structure is that the thin film is elastic and deformable. It has a single opening corresponding to a vent hole on the substrate, thus forming a partially closed microfluidic system. The substrate is designed to have several positions for micro fluid elements and deformable chambers and uses micro channels to form a complete network. Since the thin film is elastic and deformable, one is able to impose a pressure on the thin film above the deformable chambers in this partially closed microfluidic system to drive the fluid into motion. Once the pressure is released, the fluid flows back to its original configuration.

Configurable micro flowguide device

A pneumatic driving device and the associated method for micro fluids, wherein the pneumatic driving device for micro fluids is constructed by connecting a fluid pipe with a structure that is formed by two gas stream inlets, a gas stream fender, a gas stream flow path and a gas stream outlet. The suction, exclusion and stagnation for the micro fluids inside the fluid pipes can be accomplished by adjusting the flow rates of the gas streams into the device at the two gas stream inlets. In the invention several pneumatic driving devices are connected to form a single recursive pneumatic driving device by the concept of recursion, and the micro fluids inside several fluid pipes can be controlled to mix or to separate through the recursive pneumatic driving device by adjusting the flow rates of the gas streams into the device at different gas stream inlets.
