A method for registration of digital medical images is provided. The method includes the step of storing a 3D digital medical image having a 3D anatomical feature and a first coordinate system and storing a 2D digital medical image having a 2D anatomical feature and a second coordinate system. The method further includes the steps of storing a placement of a digital medical object on the 3D digital medical image and the 2D digital medical image and generating a simulated 2D digital medical image from the 3D digital medical image, wherein the simulated 2D digital medical image comprises a simulated 2D anatomical feature corresponding to the 3D anatomical feature. The 2D anatomical feature is compared with the simulated 2D anatomical feature until a match is reached and a registration of the first coordinate system with the second coordinate system based on the match is determined.

Method and system for improving 2D-3D registration convergence

A portable medical imaging system and method, of which the system includes a movable station having a movable C-arm, an imaging signal transmitter attached to the movable C-arm, and an imaging sensor positioned generally opposite to the imaging signal transmitter and attached to the movable c-arm. The imaging sensor is configured to rotate relative to a point approximately on a center axis of the movable C-arm independently of the imaging signal transmitter, so as to change an angle of incidence for a signal transmitted from the imaging signal transmitter to the imaging sensor, and provide a field-of-view that is larger than the field-of-view of the imaging sensor at a single position.

The two C-arms work together to provide a full 360 degree rotation of the imaging signal transmitter. In embodiment, the imaging signal transmitter and imaging sensor are offset from a center axis of the medical imaging system such that the portable medical imaging system is operable to capture an enlarged field of view.

The two C-arms work together to provide a full 360 degree rotation of the imaging signal transmitter. The movable station may include a motion control system and an imaging control system. In embodiments, the motion control system includes omni-directional wheels for precision controlled-movement of the movable station.

The surgical robot system may include a robot having a robot base, a robot arm coupled to the robot base, and an end-effector coupled to the robot arm. The robot may include a plurality of omni-directional wheels affixed to the robot base allowing multiple-axis movement of the robot. The robot may further include sensors for detecting a desired movement of the robot base and a control system responsive to the plurality of sensors for controlling the multiple-axis movement of the robot by actuating two or more of the plurality of omni-directional wheels.

A method for autonomous vehicles to change lanes on a motorway may include steps of providing a computer system enabling an incoming vehicle that conducts lane change to negotiate with an incumbent vehicle that stays in its lane; generating first synchronous data on traffic density and traffic speed to the vehicles in both the transversal and longitudinal directions on the motorway; generating second synchronous data on traffic density and traffic speed to said vehicles for vehicles entering on the motorway and exiting the motorway; providing a summary of historical statistics on the first and second synchronous data to the vehicles; calculating a fair price of each lane of the motorway at a predetermined location, at a predetermined time and within a predetermined tolerance; and generating a protocol to change lanes, wherein said incoming vehicle pays said incumbent vehicle the fair price to move in front of the incumbent vehicle.

The movable station includes a c-arm having a first end and a second end that are movable along an arc relative to the movable station. The detector panel is attached to the first end of the movable c-arm. The X-ray beam transmitter faces the detector panel and is attached to the second end of the c-arm. The X-ray beam transmitter contains a collimator that forms a window through which an X-ray beam is transmitted toward the detector panel. The collimator is configured to move the widow in a lateral direction across a direction of the arc. The controller is configured to control movement of the window by the collimator to steer the X-ray beam laterally across the detector panel.
