A system includes a transport container, a delivery management server, and a delivery vehicle. The transport container includes a secure space for holding an item. The delivery management server includes a delivery platform communication interface, a condition detection interface, a rules engine, and a transmission system. The delivery platform communication interface is configured to receive a delivery order for the transport container that includes instructions to defer a delivery operation until a specified condition is satisfied. The rules engine is configured to, responsive to determining that the specified condition is satisfied, generate a command to execute the delivery operation. The transmission system is for transmitting the command to a delivery vehicle. The delivery vehicle includes a vehicle communication interface and an electromechanical interface. The vehicle communication interface is configured to receive the command. The electromechanical interface configured to couple or decouple the transport container with the delivery vehicle.

System and method for conditional delivery of a transport container

A transport container includes a body. The transport container further includes a first securing mechanism coupled to the body. The first securing mechanism is configured to couple the body to a second securing mechanism of an attachment point. The transport container further includes a controller configured to receive a request for coupling. The controller is configured to authenticate the request for coupling responsive to receiving the request for coupling. The controller is further configured to, responsive to authenticating the request for coupling, initiate coupling between the first securing mechanism and the second securing mechanism. The coupling includes locking a first locking structure of the first securing mechanism to a first attachment structure of the second securing mechanism.

Systems and methods of securing transport containers to attachment points

A container includes a body. The body has a cavity for storage of cargo. The container includes a transceiver coupled to the body. The container also includes processing circuitry coupled to the body and the transceiver. The processing circuitry is configured to, subsequent to determination of a route for delivery of first cargo, detect a re-route condition. The processing circuitry is configured to, in response to detection of the re-route condition, determine an updated route for delivery of the first cargo. The processing circuitry is also configured to send a command to cause the transceiver to transmit a signal to cause the container to be deployed from a first location to a second location of the updated route.

Apparatus and method for container labeling

A delivery management server includes one or more processors configured to receive a return request notification indicating that a return is requested using a package container. The one or more processors are also configured to, based at least in part on receipt of the return request notification and a determination that a cover of the package container is in a closed state: store a trial end time, determine a trial duration based on a comparison of a trial start time and the trial end time, and based on a determination that the trial duration is less than or equal to a trial duration threshold, send a request to direct a transportation vehicle to a container location to retrieve the package container.

System and method of last mile delivery

A transport container is provided. The transport container includes a body having a base, a cover, an opening, and at least one side wall all defining a cavity therebetween. The transport container also includes an electronic controller. The electronic controller is configured to determine a geographic route from a carrier destination location to a destination location based on received carrier transfer information and received transportation information. The electronic controller is also configured to display the carrier transfer information on a user interface when the transport container is located at a carrier initial location. The electronic controller is further configured to deploy the transport container when the transport container is located at the carrier initial location.

Apparatus and method for container interface operations

An apparatus includes a communication device affixed to or placed within a transport container. The apparatus further includes processing circuitry configured to initiate display, via the communication device, of first routing information indicating a first destination along a geographic route from a first location to a second location and to, in response to a condition indicating movement of the container from the first location to an intermediate location, initiate display, via the at least one communication device, of second routing information indicating a second destination or a final destination that is different than the first destination.

Securing systems and methods of securing a transport container to an attachment point. In one embodiment, the securing system includes an actuator, an attachment structure, and an electronic controller. The attachment structure is dimensioned to complement the actuator. The electronic controller is operably coupled to the actuator for attaching and releasing the actuator to the attachment structure.

A package container includes a processor that is configured to store a trial end time based at least in part on receiving a return request. The processor is also configured to determine a trial duration based on a comparison of a trial start time and the trial end time. The processor is further configured to initiate sending of a transportation request to a delivery management server in response to the processor determining that the trial duration is less than or equal to a trial duration threshold. A vehicle to transport a first drone and a second drone includes a controller and a storage unit. The storage unit is configured to store a plurality of package containers. The controller is configured to initiate movement of a package container from the storage unit to the first drone and to initiate coupling of a first electromechanical interface of a plurality of electromechanical interfaces of the package container to the first drone. The controller is also configured to release the first drone from the vehicle with instructions for the first drone to move the package container to a package container reception point configured to couple to a second electromechanical interface of the plurality of electromechanical interfaces. The second drone is configured to provide data to the first drone. The data is related to a route from the vehicle to the package container reception point.

A mountable bracket includes a first leg configured to be coupled to a mounting surface, and a first sub-leg coupled to the first leg. The first leg is extended along a first axis and is configured to project from the mounting surface at a first angle to define a first engagement surface. The first sub-leg projects from the first leg at a second angle to define a second engagement surface. The second engagement surface and at least a portion of the first engagement surface form a first mounting rail configured to mate with a first attachment structure having a first opening width. The first engagement surface and a third engagement surface of a second leg form a second mounting rail configured to mate with a second attachment structure having a second opening width. The second opening width is greater than the first opening width.
