A method for resuming topology of a single loop network and a network switch system are provided. The network switch system includes one or more first network switches each having a first port and a second port and a second network switch having a third port and a fourth port. When the first port of one of the first network switches is abnormal, a recovery control frame is transmitted through the second port. The second network switch sets the third port in a disabled state to an enabled state. When the abnormal port is resumed, the first network switch transmits a block control frame through the second port. The second network switch sets the third port in the enabled state to the disabled state and transmits a forward control frame through the fourth port. The first network switch sets the first port in the disabled state to the enabled state.

Method for resuming topology of single loop network and switch network system

A method used in a stacking/stackable switch unit includes: providing a plurality of signal ports of the stacking/stackable switch unit, the signal ports having at least one master/slave control port corresponding to at least one operation function of the stacking/stackable switch unit; during a boot-up procedure, automatically determining whether the stacking/stackable switch unit is a master or a slave according to at least one signal level of the at least one master/slave control port and/or content of at least one bit obtained from the at least one master/slave control port.

Stacking switch unit and method used in stacking switch unit

A network switch and a network switch system thereof are provided. The network switch includes a plurality of connection ports and a processing circuit. When any of the connection ports receives a first abnormal message packet and one of the connection ports is in a disabled state, the processing circuit sets the connection port in the disabled state to switch to an enabled state, and the processing circuit does not forward the first abnormal message packet in the single loop network. When one of the connection ports is abnormal and each of the connection ports forming the single loop network is in the enabled state, the processing circuit sets the abnormal connection port to switch to the disabled state, and transmits a second abnormal message packet to other network switches in the single loop network through another connection port that is not abnormal.
