A rotor blade includes an airfoil having an airfoil shape. The airfoil shape has a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z set forth in one of Table I, Table II, Table III, Table IV, Table V, Table VI, Table VII, Table VIII, or Table IX. The Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z are non-dimensional values from 0% to 100% convertible to dimensional distances expressed in a unit of distance by multiplying the Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z by a scaling factor of the airfoil in the unit of distance. The X and Y values, when connected by smooth continuing arcs, define airfoil profile sections at each Z value. The airfoil profile sections at Z values are joined smoothly with one another to form a complete airfoil shape.

The cutting tool includes a guide track configured and disposed to be fixedly mounted relative to a generator rotor and a cutting head block moveably mounted relative to the guide track. The cutting tool is configured and disposed to produce a fixed depth cut through a generator rotor bar. A cleaning system is configured for substantially simultaneously cleaning first and second opposing surfaces and first and second opposing edges of the generator rotor bar. The cleaning system includes a guide member and a cleaning assembly moveably mounted to the guide member. The cleaning assembly includes a plurality of cleaning members arranged to clean each of first and second opposing surfaces and first and second opposing edges of the generator rotor bar.

Generator rotor refurbishing system and method of repairing a generator rotor

A method is provided of calibrating a system that detects presence of a pollution component within exhaust gases proceeding along an exhaust passageway. A measurement cell of a probe is isolated by movement of either the entire probe or a shield within the probe from the exhaust gas to allow reference gas to be detected by a laser beam in the mid-infrared range in the measurement cell to calibrate the system. In another example, a laser source is placed on one side of an exhaust passageway and a detector is placed on the other side. A reference cell is provided that is used to receive reference gas and calibrate the system. In yet another example, the exhaust gas is extracted from the passageway and is measured in a reference cell. The reference cell is also filled with reference gas when it is desired to calibrate the system.

Calibration system and method of using mid-IR laser measure and monitor exhaust pollutant

A method for reducing clearance flow in a channel between a bucket and an enclosure of a turbine. The method includes separating a single flow in the channel into a first flow and a second flow and directing the second flow radially inward toward the bucket so that the second flow rejoins with the first flow to increase total flow onto the bucket. A turbine includes an inner casing, a rotatable shaft positioned axially within the inner casing, a plurality of buckets connected to the shaft, a first tooth projecting radially inward from and connected to the inner casing, wherein the first tooth and at least one bucket form a first fluidic channel therebetween and a second tooth connected to and in parallel with the first tooth form a radial fluidic channel. The axial fluidic channel is in communication with the radial fluidic channel to form a second fluidic channel.

Method and apparatus for turbine clearance flow reduction

A retaining ring configuration system is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a set of adjustment apparatuses configured to contact a portion of a generator rotor, each of the set of adjustment apparatuses including: a base member for contacting the portion of the generator rotor; an adjustment member for adjusting a position of the generator retaining ring relative to the generator rotor; and an actuation member coupled to the base member and operably attached to the adjustment member, the actuation member for actuating movement of the adjustment member to adjust the position of the generator retaining ring relative to the generator rotor.

A method for handling a stator bar at a braze station including: lifting the stator bar from a platform, wherein the stator bar is in a substantially horizontal orientation on the platform; turning the stator bar from the horizontal orientation to an orientation at least 45 degrees from horizontal; aligning an upper end of the bar with a brazing station and positioning a lower end of the bar in a pit; turning the bar to reverse positions of the ends of the bar, and returning the stator bar to a horizontal orientation.

A method facilitates extending the useful life of a turbine engine including a combustor and a turbine downstream from and in flow communication with the combustor. The method comprises identifying at least a portion of the combustor that is at least one of distressed, worn, deteriorated, satisfied pre-determined threshold data, and beyond serviceable limits, identifying at least one enhancement kit for installation within the combustor, and removing at least two portions of the combustor including at least two of a combustor dome assembly, a swirler/cowl assembly, and the combustor inner and outer liners. The method also comprises installing the enhancement kit within the turbine engine such that a useful life of the turbine engine is facilitated to be increased.

Systems and methods for controlling combustion emission parameters associated with a gas turbine combustor. The method can include providing an optical path through a gas turbine exhaust duct, propagating light along the optical path, measuring exhaust species absorption of the light within the gas turbine exhaust duct, and controlling at least one of the combustion parameters based at least in part on the measured exhaust species absorption.

Systems and methods for closed loop emissions control

A method for handling a stator bar at a stator bar facility having a stator bar workstation, an in-ground pit proximate to and at an elevation below the workstation and a stator bar transport proximate to the in-ground pit including: loading the stator bar onto the stator bar transport; turning the stator bar at least 45 degrees in a vertical plane; positioning at least a third of a length of the stator bar down into the in-ground pit, aligning a first end of the bar with the workstation, and turning the bar to reverse positions of the ends of the bar, such that a second end of the bar is aligned with the workstation.

A method for heating a fluid in a turbine engine is provided. The method includes channeling an exhaust flow through an exhaust duct of the turbine engine and coupling a panel to the exhaust duct. The panel includes a first wall and an opposite second wall that is spaced a distance from the first wall such that at least one passageway is defined within the panel. The fluid is supplied to the at least one passageway through an inlet defined at a first end of the passageway, such that heat is transferred from the exhaust flow to the fluid flowing through the panel. The fluid is injected into the turbine engine.

Methods and apparatus for heating a fluid

A method of applying an outer insulation to a bare stator bar to form an insulated stator bar. The method entails extruding at least one extruded member that will form the outer insulation. The extruded member has an opposing pair of edges that are parallel to the longitudinal length of the extruded member. In addition, the extrusion process creates an inner cavity that extends the longitudinal length of the extruded member. A bare stator bar is then inserted into the inner cavity of the outer insulation so that the outer insulation surrounds the perimeter of the bar and extends along a longitudinal length thereof. The opposing pair of edges of the extruded member are then attached together so that the perimeter of the bar is entirely enclosed by the extruded member.
