A distributed traffic signal control method is provided for a directed network comprising a plurality of junctions, each junction having a plurality of links connected thereto, the links comprising one or more upstream links and one or more downstream links, the method comprising: activating one of a plurality of phases of the junction for a predetermined time period which maximizes the directed network throughput based on current differential traffic backlogs between said one or more upstream links and said one or more downstream links, each phase providing a unique combination of traffic signals at the junction for guiding traffic from the upstream link(s) to the downstream link(s). There is also provided a corresponding traffic signal controller, a traffic control system comprising the traffic signal controller, and a computer readable medium having stored therein computer executable codes for instructing a computer processor to execute the distributed traffic signal control method.

A method for packetizing data representing a video sequence comprising a first frame and a second frame. The method comprising determining for at least one first area of a plurality of first areas of the first frame a second area of a plurality of second areas of the second frame such that, for different first areas different second areas are determined and such that, for each of the first areas, a measure of the distance between the second area determined for the first area and an area of the second frame whose location within the second frame corresponds to the location of the first area is above a value. The method further comprising grouping, for each of the first areas, data which the first area may be reconstructed and data from which the second area determined for the first area may be reconstructed into a packet.

Method and apparatus for packetizing data

Methods of delaminating a graphene film () from a metal substrate () are disclosed that substantially preserve the metal substrate. The methods include forming a support layer () on the graphene film and then performing an electrochemical process in an electrochemical apparatus (). The electrochemical process creates gas bubbles () at the metal-film interface (), thereby causing the delamination. The graphene film and support layer form a structure () that is collected by a take-up roller (). The support layer and graphene structure are then separated to obtain the graphene film.

Methods of nondestructively delaminating graphene from a metal substrate

An improved tooth profile for a roller chain sprocket enables noise reduction from impact and polygonal action during the meshing process. The profile of the engaging flank consists of three portions which are the seating, impact and distal portions all three of which are arcs with well-defined radii and arc centers. The profile of the disengaging flank is determined in accordance to a modified form of the JIS standard in which the sprocket pitch is smaller than the roller chain pitch. The impact point is located at the tangent point, thus permitting a gradual change of the roller velocity, thereby lessening the impact level and the effects of polygonal action.
