A user equipment (UE) configured to establish a packet data unit (PDU) session with a network, wherein the PDU session comprises a quality of service (QOS) flow, receive one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages indicating a configured grant (CG) allocated to the UE, wherein the QoS flow is mapped to a logical channel (LCH) and wherein the LCH is mapped to the CG and transmit data on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using a time and a frequency resource of the CG.

Configured grant adjustments

Some aspects provide for establishing a radio connection for the wireless communication, determining a configuration for whether to segment one or more packets for the wireless communication using the established radio connection, and communicating the one or more packets based on the determined configuration. Some aspects provide for assembling a first frame comprising one or more packets, transmitting the first frame, determining whether a portion of one or more packets was truncated during the assembling of the first frame, and transmitting a second frame comprising at least the truncated portion of the one or more packets of the first frame. Some aspects provide for receiving a first frame comprising one or more packets, determining that a portion of one or more packets is truncated, and determining whether to ignore as padding at least the truncated portion of the one or more packets of the first frame.

Configurations associated with segmentation of one or more packets for wireless communication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless communications system may establish radio bearers for certain data transmissions between a user equipment (UE) and a base station. A radio bearer may be associated with one or more quality of services (QoS) parameters, such as a bit rate. The base station may indicate to the UE a time window over which to average the bit rate. In some examples, a radio bearer may include multiple data flows. The base station may provide information regarding QoS parameters for each data flow in control signaling, such as a grant.

Quality of service configurations for radio bearers with multiple data flows

Aspects directed towards Quality of Service (QoS) flow remapping are disclosed. In an example, upon detecting a mapping reconfiguration of a first QoS flow from a first data radio bearer (DRB) to another DRB, a Service Data Adaptation Protocol (SDAP) control protocol data unit (PDU) is generated indicating that a final SDAP data PDU associated with the first QoS flow has been transmitted on the first DRB. The SDAP control PDU is then transmitted via the first DRB. In another example, upon detecting a mapping reconfiguration of a first QoS flow from a first DRB to another DRB, an end marker parameter is set in an SDAP header of a first SDAP data PDU received from an upper layer after the mapping reconfiguration indicating that the first SDAP data PDU is a final SDAP data PDU associated with the first QoS flow transmitted on the first DRB.

Facilitating quality of service flow remapping utilizing a service data adaptation protocol layer

A device-to-device (D2D) communication application is stored in a memory of a first device, and has an application identifier (ApplicationID) configured to enable D2D communication between two or more devices in proximity. The first device is configured with a user identifier (UserID). A group associated with the D2D communication application can then be established, which includes the first device and one or more second devices, each having the D2D communication capability and an associated UserID, each of the devices exchanging their ApplicationID and UserID with other devices to establish the group. A role in the group is assigned to each device of the first device and one or more second devices, which defines functions for each device to establish the D2D communications. Based on the role of each device, a set of resources from the network are allocated to enable the D2D communication on the D2D communication channel.

Network slicing framework for time-sensitive peer-to-peer networking

Systems, methods, and processors are provided for flexibly configuring network slices in device to device communication. In one example, a baseband processor for a relay user equipment (UE) is configured to cause the UE to receive a UE route selection policy (URSP) from a network. The URSP includes respective URSP rules for routing UE traffic through respective network slices to the network. A first URSP rule indicates whether an associated first network slice is designated for remote UE traffic, relay UE traffic, or both remote UE traffic and relay UE traffic. The baseband processor is configured to cause the UE to establish a device to device (D2D) connection with a remote UE to relay remote UE traffic from the remote UE to a base station and assign the remote UE traffic to at least one network slice based on the URSP.

Network slice configuration for device to device communication

A method and apparatus for receiving a notification of missing packets include receiving a set of data packets transmitted by a device and having a corresponding set of sequence numbers, identifying one or more data packets having corresponding sequence numbers that fall within the set of sequence numbers and are yet to be received, receiving an indication from the device that the one or more data packets will not be transmitted by the device, and processing the set of data packets without the one or more data packets in response to receiving the indication.

Streamlined user plane headers for high data rates

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One example method for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) includes detecting a radio link failure (RLF) condition for a connection between the UE and a network over a first cell group and determining, in response to detecting the RLF condition, whether an air interface resource allocation is available for a signaling radio bearer (SRB) between the UE and the network over another cell group. The method also includes selecting, based at least in part on the determination, one of a plurality of RLF procedures. In some examples, the UE may select a first RLF procedure that fully releases radio resources when no SRB is available and a different, second RLF procedure that partially when an SRB is available between the UE and the network over a second cell group.

Radio link failure (RLF) procedure with generic cell group management

A wireless device may receive a radio link control (RLC) protocol data unit (PDU) from a lower layer (e.g., from a media access control (MAC) layer) when processing communications (e.g., packets) received from another wireless device. The receiving wireless device may identify that the PDU is an RLC service data unit (SDU) segment based at least in part on an indication corresponding to a sequence number associated with the RLC SDU segment. The receiving wireless device may then determine that the RLC SDU segment is received out of order based on previously received PDUs or previously received RLC SDU segments, and initiate a reassembly timer based on the out of order determination for the RLC SDUs. If the remaining RLC SDU segments (e.g., that complete the RLC SDU) are received before reassembly timer expires, the wireless device may reassemble the RLC SDU to be passed to a higher layer.

Radio link failure (RFL) procedure with generic cell group management

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications system may support multi-connectivity for a user equipment (UE) with multiple distributed units (DUs) under one central unit (CU), the DUs and the CU belonging to a base station. The UE may establish radio resource control (RRC) connections with multiple cell groups corresponding to multiple DUs under the CU. The UE may transmit measurement reports that provide measurement information for cells in proximity to the UE. The UE may maintain a set of active cell groups and a set of inactive cell groups. In some cases, one or more cell groups may be identified as controlling cell groups used to transmit control information. In some examples, the UE may replicate an uplink packets and transmit the uplink packet and replicates on multiple cell groups. In some cases, the UE may aggregate an uplink transmission among multiple cell groups.

Mobility robustness and spatial reliability using multi-connectivity

A user equipment (UE) may identify a bearer (e.g., a default bearer) and request establishment of a second bearer (e.g., a high priority bearer) for use in streaming downlink data from, for example, an application server. The UE may determine a status of a playout buffer and select the first bearer or the second bearer for use in streaming the downlink data associated with the application based on the status of the playout buffer. For example, the first bearer may be used be used by default, and the second bearer may be selected if the amount of data in the playout buffer does not satisfy (e.g., is below) a threshold. In some cases, each bearer may be associated with a transmission control protocol (TCP) port associated with a TCP connection. In some cases, each bearer may be associated with different Internet protocol (IP) address.

Dual priority bearers for video transmission

Aspects of the present disclosure describe transmitting data in wireless communications. A set of packets for transmission in a defined sequence can be received where the set of packets includes two or more packets. It can be detected that a packet, of the set of packets, is a prioritized packet type. The packet can be prioritized for transmission ahead of its order in the defined sequence based on the detection of the prioritized packet type. The packet can be transmitted ahead of its order in the defined sequence to an access point.

Prioritizing packets in wireless communications

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for determining a configuration for packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes determining a PDCP duplication configuration corresponding to at least one of multi-connectivity (MC) or carrier-aggregation (CA) for communication of at least one bearer with a user-equipment (UE), wherein the determination is based on an indication corresponding to a link quality for the communication, and sending an indication of the determined configuration for the communication of the at least one bearer.
