Various solutions for maintaining a radio resource control (RRC) connection with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may establish an RRC connection with a network node. The apparatus may transmit a layer 2 packet to maintain the RRC connection after a period of time without data transmission. The apparatus may transmit uplink data via the RRC connection without re-establishing the RRC connection.

Method and apparatus for maintaining radio resource control connection in mobile communications

To facilitate LWA PDCP setting/scheduling, a method of providing dynamic PDCP status report polling is proposed. To enhance scheduling efficiency, the transmitter (can be eNB from DL or UE for UL) can dynamically poll PDCP status report for LWA behavior. The polling can be done by a standalone PDCP control PDU or use reserved bit in PDCP data PDU. The triggering condition for PDCP status polling includes: PDCP without poll time exceeds a first threshold, PDCP without poll bytes exceeds a second threshold, PDCP without poll PDU numbers exceeds a third threshold, a data buffer is empty, and when LWA is deactivated.

Method of dynamic PDCP status report polling for LTE-WLAN aggregation

Various solutions for handling compression error with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may transmit a compressed protocol data unit (PDU) to a network node. The apparatus may receive a negative acknowledgement (NACK) message from the network node. The apparatus may restore a compressed service data unit (SDU) to original data. The apparatus may transmit the original data with an uncompressed format to the network node.

Method and apparatus for handling compression error in mobile communications

Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for packet header compression. The method can include receiving a packet in a communication device having resources for packet compression, parsing a header of the packet to obtain header information, and determining whether to compress the header of the packet based on the header information and status of the resources for packet compression in the communication device.

Enhancement on header compression

A communications apparatus includes a radio transceiver and a processor. The radio transceiver receives a plurality of feedback messages from a peer device. The feedback messages are transmitted by the peer device to indicate a result of UL data transmission. The processor analyzes content of the feedback messages to determine a preferred retransmission type of the peer device and records the preferred retransmission type of the peer device in a memory device. When the radio transceiver receives a first UL grant message indicating transmission of a first UL data and the processor determines that a forthcoming first feedback message corresponding to the transmission of the first UL data is unable to be received, the processor determines whether to retransmit the first UL data according to the preferred retransmission type of the peer device.

Method for handling UL data retransmission and communications apparatus utilizing the same

A communications apparatus includes a first radio frequency (RF) signal processing device, a first baseband signal processing device and a processor. The first RF signal processing device transceives a plurality of RF signals to and from a peer communications apparatus to communicate with the peer communications apparatus in compliance with a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) and processing the RF signals. The first baseband signal processing device processes a plurality of baseband signals corresponding to the RF signals. The processor obtains an uplink scheduling indicating a predetermined time assigned by the peer communications apparatus to transmit uplink data from the baseband signals, determines whether to transmit the uplink data at the predetermined time according to a gap-creation criterion, and transmits padding instead of the uplink data to the peer communications apparatus at the predetermined time when the gap-creation criterion is satisfied.

Transmission gap creation and communications apparatus utilizing the same

A resource allocation apparatus, method, application program, and computer readable medium thereof are provided. A plurality of data streams are transmitted to a plurality of receiving ends via a network resource, wherein each of the receiving ends has a subscribing status. Each of the data streams comprises a plurality of data layers. First, required data are sent to the receiving ends. Then, an efficiency ratio of each of the possible transmission combinations is dynamically calculated. Finally, data layers comprised in the possible transmission combination that has the greatest efficiency ratio are transmitted to the receiving ends. Efficiency ratios are calculated according to the whole network resource, the channels of the receiving ends, and the characters of the data streams. By the aforementioned arrangement, data layers received by the receiving ends can be adjusted dynamically. Thus, the efficiency of the network resource can be increased.

Resource allocation apparatus, method, and computer readable medium thereof

A method for direct link in wireless communication system is provided, which is applied in a base station with functions for broadcast and time division duplex (TDD), the method comprising the following steps: receiving connection request signalings including position information from a plurality of subscriber stations (SSs) with global positioning systems (GPSs); determining the SSs which can carry out the direct link, according to the connection request signalings; allocating time slots to each SS which can carry out direct link in the scheduling; calculating a relative distance between the two SSs according to the position information; determining an initial transmit power for the transmitting SS, and adjusting it many times; finally, adding the adjusted transmit power value and the time slot information allocated to the SSs in the scheduling into the broadcast message.
