A connector is mountable on a circuit board and connectable with a mating connector. The connector comprises a housing and a plurality of contacts which are held by the housing. The contacts form two or more contact rows. The contacts of each of the contact rows are arranged in a pitch direction. Each of the contacts has a fixed portion which is fixed to the circuit board when the connector is mounted on the circuit board. The housing has one or more openings each of which is positioned between neighboring two of the contact rows in a predetermined direction perpendicular to the pitch direction. Two or more of the fixed portions extend into one of the openings.

A connector has contacts and a housing having holding grooves which accommodate the contacts. Each of the holding grooves has an inner wall extending in a first direction. Each of the contacts has a fixed portion, a contact arm portion and a support arm portion. The fixed portion is fixed to a corresponding one of the holding grooves. The contact arm portion and the support arm portion extend from the fixed portion in the first direction and are disposed apart from each other in a second direction. The contact arm portion has a contact point and is resiliently deformable to move the contact point in the second direction. The support arm portion comes into contact with the inner wall of the corresponding one of the holding grooves at least when the contact arm portion is resiliently deformed so that the contact point comes close to the support arm portion.

Connector

A thin connector includes a first connector and a second connector both having a flat plate shape, the first connector includes first conductive layers disposed on a first insulating layer and superimposed on one another via an intermediate insulating layer, each first conductive layer has a spring contact array, among the first conductive layers, a first conductive layer closer to the first insulating layer has the spring contact array disposed more frontward in the fitting direction while a first conductive layer farther from the insulating layer has the spring contact array disposed more rearward in the fitting direction, the second connector includes a single second conductive layer disposed on a second insulating layer, the second conductive layer has projection arrays, among the projection arrays, a projection array disposed more frontward in the fitting direction are lower while a projection array disposed more rearward in the fitting direction are higher.

Thin connector

A connector includes a first connector having first female contacts, first male contacts and a first insulation portion disposed between each first female contact and an adjacent first male contact, and a second connector having second female contacts, second male contacts and a second insulation portion disposed between each second female contact and an adjacent second male contact, provided that a width of each first female contact and second female contact on fitting is denoted by Wa width of the first insulation portion and the second insulation potion by Wand a width of each first male contact and second male contact by Wa distance between centers of one first female contact and an adjacent first male contact and a distance between centers of one second female contact and an adjacent second male contact are each smaller than a sum of W/2, Wand W/2.

A receptacle used to be mounted on a receptacle-side substrate includes: a frame body; a plurality of cantilevers formed to extend from the frame body and including a substrate separating portion extending in a direction away from the receptacle-side substrate; a contact cover disposed on an opposite side of the receptacle-side substrate with the substrate separating portion of the plurality of cantilevers interposed therebetween, and covering the substrate separating portion of the plurality of cantilevers; and a plurality of conductive patterns formed above the plurality of cantilevers with an insulating layer interposed therebetween. The frame body forms a plug accommodating space for accommodating a plug. The plug accommodating space is formed so as to surround the substrate separating portion of the plurality of cantilevers.

Connector and connector unit

A plurality of upper plug contacts are each brought into contact with a master elastic piece and a slave elastic piece of a corresponding lower receptacle contact in accordance with elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece. A plurality of lower plug contacts are each brought into contact with a master elastic piece and a slave elastic piece of a corresponding upper receptacle contact in accordance with elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece. For example, as shown in FIG., in a state where an upper connector and a lower connector are mated, a direction of the elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece of each upper receptacle contact is different from a direction of the elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece of each lower receptacle contact.

Board-to-board connector assembly

A contact unit includes a first conduction path in the form of a thin film arranged along a peripheral surface of an insulating elastic body, a second conduction path arranged along the first conduction path, and a connecting conduction path electrically connecting the first and second conduction paths to each other. A frame has a through hole. The frame supports the contact unit so that the first conduction path exposed from both openings of the through hole is brought into contact with connection objects and that the second conduction path is entirely received in the through hole.

A thin connector includes a first connector portion having arrayed first contacts with first contact portions and a second connector portion having arrayed second contacts with second contact portions, each first contact including a first movable portion displaceable in the direction in which the first contacts are arrayed and a second movable portion connected to the first movable portion and displaceable in a direction orthogonal to the direction in which the first contacts are arrayed, the first contact portion being disposed in the second movable portion, the first connector portion and the second connector portion being fitted with each other by sliding relatively in the direction in which the first contacts and the second contacts are arrayed.

A connector capable of improving the contact stability. Linear cores of contact members and wires of an insulating holder are weaved to thereby form a net. Conductive path portions of the contact members are disposed such that they extend through a mesh.

A board-to-board connector includes a receptacle connector and a plug connector. The receptacle connector includes a plurality of beam parts having a metal plate and an insulating layer formed on the metal plate and a plurality of conductive patterns formed on the insulating layer of the plurality of beam parts. The plug connector includes a beam contact part having a metal plate and an insulating layer formed on the metal plate and a plurality of conductive patterns formed on the insulating layer of the beam contact part. A beam projection is formed between the adjacent conductive patterns of the plug connector, and the beam projection is inserted between the adjacent beam parts of the receptacle connector when the receptacle connector and the plug connector are mated.

Housingless connector

In a cable connector for use in connecting a cable having a first and a second surface opposite to each other in twin thickness direction thereof, a conductive contact has twin contact portions to be opposed to the first surface and a pivot portion to be opposed to the second surface. A handle is used for pressing the cable between the twin contact portions. The handle has a cam portion positioned between the pivot portion and the cable and is made with a hole in which the pivot portion is inserted with a clearance. The pivot portion has a concavity corresponding to the cam portion. The cam portion engages with the pivot portion so that the handle is rotatable around the pivot portion.

Cable connector capable of surely connecting a cable

An electrical connector comprises an insulator (101) having an opening portion (102) for receiving a connection member (30) at a predetermined position over a plurality of contacts (103). A pressing member (105) is rotatably supported by the insulator (101). A locking arrangement (12, 128) is for locking the pressing member to the insulator only when the connection member (130) is properly positioned at the predetermined position. A detecting arrangement (105d, 119) detects improper positioning of said connection member. The locking arrangement comprises a locking portion (125) formed on the insulator and an engaging projection (128) formed on the pressing member (105) to be engaged with the locking portion. The detecting arrangement (105d, 119) comprises a pair of locking arms (119) formed on the insulator and a detecting projection (105d) formed on the pressing member. When the connection member is partly inserted between the locking arms, the locking arms are pressed and deformed outwards to inhibit the rotation of the pressing member.

In a coaxial connector which comprises a coaxial connector receptacle (93) having a receptacle outer contact (169), and a coaxial connector plug (95) having a plug outer contact (101) with a first contact portion (107) brought into contact with a receptacle outer contact and a second contact portion (111) brought into contact with an outer conductor (155) of a coaxial cable (99), the first contact portion and the second contact portion of the coaxial connector plug are integrally coupled through a coupling portion (113). The second contact portion has a plurality of press-bonding pieces (123, 127) which penetrate a sheath (153) of the coaxial cable to be brought into contact with the outer conductor of the coaxial cable. The press-bonding pieces are arranged so as to surround the coaxial cable. Preferably, the coaxial connector plug has a plug inner contact (105) which has a press-contact portion (145) to be press-contacted with an inner conductor (159) of the coaxial cable.
