A fixing apparatus ( ) for storage devices ( ) includes a drive bracket ( ) and a fixing plate ( ). The drive bracket includes a side panel ( ) defining grooves ( ) for slidingly receiving screws ( ) that are attached on opposite sides of the storage devices. The fixing plate is attached on the side panel, and includes locking elements ( ). Each locking element includes a spring portion ( ), a stop wall ( ), and a handle ( ). To insert a storage device, the screws are slid along opposite grooves. One screw outward presses a spring portion, and causes it to be elastically deformed. When that screw has slid beyond the spring portion, the spring portion elastically returns to its original position. The stop wall and the side panel sandwich that screw therebetween. Up to three storage devices are thus secured within the drive bracket.

Fixing apparatus for data storage devices

A disk drive bracket ( ) includes a bottom panel ( ) and first and second side panels ( ) extending from opposite edges of the bottom panel. The first side panel includes a first support portion ( ), a pair of first pressing tabs ( ), and a pair of elastic pads ( ). The second side panel includes a second support portion ( ), and a pair of second pressing tabs ( ). The second side panel further defines a pair of through holes ( ) for insertion of screws ( ) therethrough. The first and second support portions support a data storage device ( ) thereon. The first and second pressing tabs depress the storage device. The elastic pads inwardly press the storage device. The storage device cannot move in any direction. Thus, the disk drive bracket readily and firmly secures the storage device therein.

A shielding device ( ) is removably received in a drive bracket ( ) of a computer enclosure ( ). The shielding device includes a shell ( ) and a pair of rails ( ). The shell electrically contacts and covers a bay in a front panel ( ) of the computer enclosure thereby providing shielding from electromagnetic interference. The rails are removably attached to the shell to be received in the drive bracket for supporting the shell therein.

A connector holder includes a conductive shield and an insulating housing receiving the shield therein. The shield forms projections on opposite walls thereof for engaging a surface of a front panel of a computer enclosure adjacent edges of an opening defined in the front panel. A resilient latch extends from a wall of the housing through the opening of the front panel and forms a barb for engaging with a tab of the front panel for securely fixing the connector holder to the front panel. Fixing pins are formed on an edge of the housing of the connector holder for being received in corresponding holes defined in the front panel to properly position the connector holder with respect to the front panel. The engagement between the projections of the shield and the front panel forms an electrical path for grounding the shield to the front panel.

A computer casing includes a side panel releasably attached thereto for covering an opening defined in a side wall thereof. The side panel has a first edge from which a perpendicular flange extends. Anchoring tabs perpendicularly extend from the flange. A step is formed on a corresponding edge of the opening with slots defined therein to receive the anchoring tabs with the flange abutting against the step thereby effectively eliminating electromagnetic radiation emitted through the opening. A plurality of locking tabs are formed on an opposite second edge of the side panel. Cutouts are defined in a rear wall of the casing corresponding to the locking tabs. A locking rod movably attached to a rear wall defines a plurality of openings corresponding to the cutouts whereby the locking tabs are allowed to extend through both the cutouts of the casing and the openings of the locking rod when the locking rod is at an unlocked position. When the locking rod is moved to a locked position, edges of the openings of the locking rod engage with notches defined in the locking tabs of the side panel thereby securing the side panel in position. A biasing spring is arranged between the locking rod and the casing for biasing the locking rod to the locked position. A handle is formed on the locking rod for manually moving the locking rod.
