A fixing apparatus for data storage devices ( ) includes a drive bracket ( ) and a fixing plate ( ). The drive bracket includes two side panels ( ) defining grooves ( ) for slidingly receiving screws ( ) attached on the storage devices. The fixing plate is attached on one side panel. The fixing plate includes two arcuate handles ( ), and two locking parts ( ) each having a stop portion ( ). In use, a screw of a storage device is sandwiched between the locking parts and blocked by the stop portions from moving out of the drive bracket. The storage device is thereby secured in the drive bracket. In removing the storage device, the handles are squeezed together to cause the locking parts to elastically move away from each other. The screw is thus released from the stop portions, and the storage device is readily slid out from the drive bracket.

Fixing apparatus for data storage devices

A computer casing ( ) includes a cage ( ), a side panel ( ), a top panel ( ), and a fastening device ( ) for securing the side panel to the top panel. The side panel has a plurality of hooks ( ). The top panel defines a sliding slot ( ) slidably accommodating the fastening device. A plurality of recesses ( ) defined in one side of the top panel is in communication with corresponding through holes ( ) defined in one slot wall ( ) bordering the sliding slot. A plurality of through openings ( ) is defined through the fastening device. A spring ( ) is placed over a cross-shaped nub ( ) on one end of the fastening device. When the hooks are extending into the through openings, the hooks drive the fastening device to compress the spring. The spring then decompresses, causing the hooks to snappingly engage the side panel with the top panel.

A drive cage assembly of a computer enclosure for receiving a data storage device therein includes a cage, a securing plate and a coupling piece. The cage has a base wall, an upper wall horizontally extending from an upper edge of the base wall and a lower wall horizontally extending from a lower edge of the base wall. The cage defines a side opening. The base wall forms at least one pair of posts projecting from the inner side thereof for inserting into corresponding holes defined in the data storage device. The securing plate is attached to the side opening of the cage and also forms at least one pair of posts in its inner side for inserting into holes defined in the data storage device. The coupling piece couples the securing plate to the cage thereby securely mounting the data storage device to the cage.

Drive cage assembly

A computer enclosure to receive a circuit board therein comprises a cage, a hook attached to the cage and a pair of ledges attached to the cage. The hook comprises a first body for supporting the circuit board and a latch extending from the first body for engaging with the circuit board. Each ledge comprises a second body for supporting the circuit board and a flange extending from the second body for engaging with the circuit board.

A mounting device for mounting a data storage device in a cage of a computer enclosure includes a board body and a plurality of fixing clips. The board body defines a plurality of mounting holes and receiving slots. Each fixing clip includes a inserting portion extending through the mounting hole of the board body and a corresponding side hole of the data storage device for attaching the board body to the data storage device, and first and second grounding fingers for respectively contacting the data storage device and the computer enclosure thereby forming a grounding path therebetween while fixing the data storage device to the computer enclosure.

Mounting device for mounting a data storage device

A computer enclosure includes a chassis ( ) and a hood ( ) attached to the chassis. The chassis includes a rear panel ( ) defining a slot ( ) and a pair of side flanges ( ). Each side flange defines a number of cutouts ( ) and a number of slits ( ) exposed to the cutouts, respectively. The hood has a pair of side walls ( ) and a J-shaped catch ( ) extending from a rear flange ( ) between the side walls. The catch of the hood is received in the slot of the chassis, allowing the hood to be rotatable with respect to the chassis between an open position and a closed position while being selectively removable from the chassis when at the open position. The J-shaped catch engages with the slot for supporting the hood at the open position. Each side wall has a number of latches ( ) for being received in the cutouts and moved into the slits of the chassis thereby securely fixing the hood to the chassis when the hood is at the closed position.

A device housing adapted to receive a data storage device therein includes a base and a pair of grounding clips attached to the base. The base includes a pair of side walls each defining a pair of gaps. Each grounding clip forms a pair of fixing portions for engaging with the gaps of the base. A contact finger extends from each fixing portion for contacting the data storage device to form a grounding path from the data storage device internal to the housing to an outside of the side walls.

A computer enclosure includes a chassis and a hood attached to the chassis. The chassis has a rear panel defining an L-shaped slot having a first section and a second section, and a pair of side panels connecting to the rear panel. The hood has a pair of side walls engaging with the side panels of the chassis for fixing the hood to the chassis. A latch is pivotably attached to one side wall of the hood and extends into the slot of the rear panel of the chassis. The latch is movable from the first section to the second section of the slot by being forcibly rotating about the pivot to securely fix the hood to the chassis.

Computer enclosure incorporating a latch

A computer enclosure includes an outer casing having at least a bottom plate and a first front plate. A number of first tabs are formed on the first front plate. Each first tab is associated with an opening defined in the first front plate. An inner casing is received in the outer casing and is movably supported on the bottom panel. The inner casing has at least a second front plate abutting against the first front plate of the outer casing. Second tabs are formed on the second front plate for being received in the openings of the outer casing and abutting against the corresponding first tabs for positioning the inner casing with respect to the outer casing and establishing a grounding path therebetween. The openings of the outer casing are shielded by the second front plate of the inner casing thereby preventing leakage of electromagnetic radiation therethrough.

Double-Layered computer enclosure

A computer enclosure includes an outer casing receiving an inner casing therein. The inner casing includes a bottom panel and a front panel extending upright from the bottom panel. A disk drive rack is arranged above the bottom panel and attached to the front panel. A main board support panel supporting a main board is attached to the front panel, the bottom and the disk drive rack on a first side of the inner casing. A support member is connected between the disk drive rack and the bottom panel on an opposite second side of the inner casing for enhancing mechanical stability of the structure of the inner casing. The support member has an upper end pivotally attached to the disk drive rack whereby the support member is movable between an open position where the support member is substantially located outside the inner casing for facilitating maintenance and a closed position where an lower end of the support member engages with the bottom panel to releasably secure the support member to the bottom panel. The support member defines three sets of openings for selectively and interchangeably engaging with pawls of three receptacles that contain power supplies of different specifications whereby power supplies of different specifications may be selectively mounted to the computer enclosure.

Computer enclosure

A panel and drive cage assembly includes a panel and a drive cage attached to the panel. The panel defines an opening therein for providing access to the drive cage. A flange extends about the opening of the panel. A number of fingers extend from the flange. The drive cage forms a number of protrusions to extend through the opening and contact the corresponding fingers of the panel for enhancing grounding.

A computer chassis includes a bottom panel having front and rear portions forming front and rear perpendicular flanges. Two openings are defined in the bottom panel proximate each of the front and rear portions and two retaining tabs are formed on the front flange. A front panel has a lower portion positioned on the bottom panel and abutting against the front flange. The lower portion of the front panel forms two projections received in the openings of the front portion of the bottom panel and defines two slots receiving the retaining tabs of the bottom panel therein thereby firmly retaining the front panel on the bottom panel. A rear panel has a lower portion positioned on and abutting against the rear flange. The lower portion of the rear panel forms two projections received in the openings of the rear portion of the bottom panel for properly positioning the rear panel on the bottom panel. Holes are defined in each of the front and rear panels and are aligned with corresponding holes defined in the bottom panel for receiving fasteners therethrough to secure the front and rear panels to the bottom panel.

Computer chassis

An apparatus for mounting a switching power supply to a rear panel having an opening defined therein of a computer enclosure, comprises a cover including a vertical portion fitted in the opening, and a step portion securely fixed to the rear panel. The vertical portion further includes a tab interengaged with the switching power supply.

Apparatus for mounting a switching power supply to a computer enclosure

A component support frame retains a power supply in a computer enclosure. The component support frame includes a U-shaped receptacle for receiving the power supply therein. Pawls are formed in the receptacle for engaging with and retaining the power supply. A pair of spaced first lugs is formed on the component support frame and defines aligned holes for receiving a pivot pin. The pivot pin is rotatably received in aligned holes defined in second lugs formed on the enclosure thereby pivotally attaching the component support frame to the enclosure. A grasping tab is formed on the receptacle for facilitating manual movement of the component support frame between a retracted position where the power supply is received in the enclosure and an extended position where the power supply is at least partially exposed for facilitating maintenance and repair.

Component support frame

A computer bezel is adapted for mounting on a computer enclosure having a data storage device attached thereto. The computer bezel comprises a base and a drive cover attached to the base. The base has a pair of arms and the drive cover is pivotable about the arms of the base. The drive cover is adapted to be pivoted about the computer enclosure for exposing the computer enclosure to an outer space thereby facilitating assembling of the data storage device to the computer enclosure.
