An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a recoding medium, side plates extending on one end and another end of the image forming unit in a vertical direction thereof and configured to support the image forming unit, a main board including an element on a first board and fixed to the side plate on the one end such that the first board vertically extends on an outer side of the side plate, a sub-board including an element on a second board and electrically connected to the main board, a top surface member arranged above the image forming unit and including a sheet discharge tray, and a holding member configured to support the sub-board below the top surface member such that the second board extends in a direction intersecting with a plane on which the first board of the main board extends.

An image forming apparatus, to which a supply container storing a developer is detachably attachable, includes a photosensitive member that rotates, an optical box and a circuit board to supply power, a developer bearing member supplying the developer, and a developer container stores the developer borne by the developer bearing member, including a supply unit for receiving the developer to be supplied from the supply container. The optical box irradiates the photosensitive member with light and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member with the developer. The supply unit includes a lever portion to rotate a shutter portion to close and open the opening, when viewed in a vertical direction, the lever portion is position overlapping the circuit board when the shutter portion closes the opening and the lever does not interfere with the circuit board when the lever portion rotates the shutter portion to open the opening.

Image forming apparatus with attachable supply container

An image forming apparatus, to which a supply container storing a developer is detachably attachable and which forms an image on a recording material, includes a photosensitive member that rotates, an optical box, a developer bearing member, and a developer container including a supply port for receiving the developer to be supplied from the supply container. The optical box irradiates the photosensitive member with light and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member. The developer bearing member bears the developer and develops the electrostatic latent image by supplying the developer to the photosensitive member. The developer container stores the developer to be borne by the developer bearing member. When viewed in a rotation axial direction of the photosensitive member, a region where the optical box is located and at least a part of a region where the supply port is located overlap each other in a horizontal direction.

An image forming apparatus includes an air communication port, and an outer casing covering an outside of a frame member of the image forming apparatus. The outer casing includes a first side surface facing in one of a first direction and a second side surface facing in one of a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a stacking unit, a frame, an outer surface member, an electronic circuit board, and a fan. The image forming unit, supported by the frame, forms an image on a recording material that then is stacked on the stacking unit. A cut-out is provided in a lower guide so as to permit a return claw to move between a retracted position and a protruded position. Furthermore, an upper surface of the return claw positioned in the protruded position functions as a guide portion that guides an underside of a sheet that has been manually fed.
