An electric storage element has a casing, a power generating element arranged inside the casing, a current collector, and a connection member. The current collector is connected to the power generating element and directly fixed to the casing. The connection member penetrates through the casing without a clearance and is connected to the current collector.

Electric storage element and method for manufacturing the same

An electric storage device includes an outer covering, an external terminal having an exposed face exposed outside from the outer covering, a current collector disposed inside the outer covering and connected to the external terminal, and an electrode assembly disposed inside the outer covering and connected to the current collector. The outer covering has a plurality of protrusions protruding outward. The device further includes gasket which has a main body disposed between the external terminal and the outer covering and a plurality of projecting portions respectively extending from the main body and having insertion holes through which the respective protrusions of the outer covering are inserted. The respective protrusions are joined to the outer covering by swaging after respectively inserted through the insertion holes in the respective projecting portions.

Electric storage device

A negative lower gasket has a rib disposed along the outer periphery of a flat portion having a base of a negative current collector disposed thereat. The height of the rib is set to be more than a thickness of the negative lower gasket. The rib may be disposed only at a portion corresponding to a position where legs project from the base of the negative current collector at the outer periphery of the flat portion.

Battery

An outside gasket for insulating a cover from an external terminal to be fixed thereto is readily fixed to the cover irrespective of a simple structure. A battery includes: a battery case which contains a power generating element therein and whose top surface is opened; a cover which closes the top surface; at which an external terminal exposed to the outside is disposed at the outer surface of the cover via an outside gasket, the cover having an engagement portion which expands outward and is formed into a shape except a circle, and the outside gasket having a recess to be engaged to the engagement portion.
