There is provided a printing device which can reduce the frequency at which a consecutive overlap-feeding operation is performed in a state where an overlap error in which a preceding medium and a following medium are overlapped in reverse order is not corrected.

Printing device

A recording apparatus includes a recording head that includes a nozzle row which is provided with a plurality of nozzles discharging liquid to a medium along a transporting direction, and executes recording as one pass by discharging the liquid from the nozzles in accordance with movement in a scanning direction intersecting the transporting direction, a transporting unit that transports the medium to a position facing the nozzle row, and a controller that is capable of acquiring information relating to a length of the medium in the transporting direction and controls the recording head and the transporting unit, in which the controller determines the nozzle being used for a recording operation as one pass in the beginning in accordance with the acquired length of the medium, and executes a heading operation for feeding the medium to a position facing the determined nozzle.

Recording apparatus

The object of the invention is to effectively prevent a medium from swelling due to ejected liquid, and prevent a head and the medium from contacting each other. When 'strong rubbing prevention' is selected in the 'rubbing prevention settings', the margin amount of the paper P is enlarged and printing is conducted. Therefore, by enlarging the margin amount, the paper can be prevented from swelling due to ejected ink, and the paper and the printing head can be more reliably prevented from contacting each other (paper rubbing).

Print control device, printing device and printing method

A power transmission switching device includes a power shaft that is rotationally driven, a power transmission unit that is displaced between first and second positions positioned in an axial direction of the power shaft, a first positioning member that positions the power transmission unit in the first position, and a second positioning member that positions the power transmission unit in the second position. Any one or both of the switching of the connection and non-connection between the power shaft and the power transmission unit and the switching of the connection and non-connection between the power transmission unit and a driven part using the power shaft as a power source are performed by the switching of the position of the power transmission unit. The power transmission unit has at least one middle position between the first and second positions, and is held in the middle position by a holding unit.

Power transmission switching device and recording apparatus

There is provided a recording apparatus including: a first member having a first sliding surface formed into a comb shape along the direction of movement of an object; a second member having a second sliding surface formed into a comb shape opposing the first sliding surface of the first member with the intermediary of a viscous member, the second member sliding between a first position which causes a restricting member to be positioned at a restricting position and a second position which causes the restricting member to be positioned at the releasing position in a state of engaging the restricting member; and a urging device configured to apply an urging force which causes the second member to slide from the first position to the second position, the urging device being arranged at least partly between tips and roots of teeth of the comb shape of the second sliding surface.

A recording apparatus includes a slider that has a cam face with which a cam of the stopper comes into sliding contact and moves in the insertion direction from a first position to a second position with a resistance when the cassette is inserted into the mounting unit. The cam face includes a first cam face on which the cam slides when the slider moves from the first position to the second position and a press cam face against which the cam presses when the paper sheet comes into contact with the stopper. The press cam face has an inclination relative to a reference straight line which is perpendicular to a plane parallel to the insertion direction of the cassette which is greater than that relative to a straight line which extends from the contact point between the press cam face and the cam to the shaft.

A recording device includes a cassette having a protruding portion; a lever as a transmission member in which the distance from a shaft portion to an abutting portion is shorter than the distance from the shaft portion to a connection portion, the lever transmitting a force that the abutting portion receives from the cassette to the connection portion as an acting force by rotating on shaft portion as the axis when the protruding portion of the cassette abuts on the abutting portion; a damper mechanism portion; a separation slope separating the papers; and a stopper as a restriction member restricting the movement of the papers at an upstream side position in the installation direction of the separation slope, and releasing the restriction on the movement of papers by retreating from the position where the stopper restricts the papers when receiving the acting force from the damper mechanism portion.

Recording device

A damper member moves a stopper after a delay in time from a restricting position, at which the stopper restricts the movement of paper, to a releasing position, at which the restriction on the movement is released; the damper member includes a base having a first sliding surface along the paper movement direction and also includes a slider, having a second sliding surface facing the first sliding surface through a viscous material, that slides between a first position at which the stopper is placed at the restricting position and a second position at which the stopper is placed at the releasing position; when at least the slider slides and reaches the first position or the second position, a clearance area is formed in the base to store a viscous material, at a position corresponding to the front end in the sliding direction of the slider.

Damper member, transport unit, and recording unit

A locking device of a rotary shaft includes a clutch member rotating integrally with the rotary shaft and provided so as to be displaceable in the direction of axis of the rotary shaft, a locking member provided in a fixed state to engage the clutch member to regulate the rotation of the clutch member, a biasing member biasing the clutch member toward the locking member, and a torque transmission member rotating under the rotary torque transmitted thereto from a power source, having a boss loosely inserted into a cam groove provided in an outer peripheral portion of the clutch member, and transmitting the rotary torque to the clutch member via the boss. The boss is displaced within the cam groove with switching of the rotation/stop of the torque transmission member or switching of the rotational direction thereof.

Locking device of rotary shaft

A rotary shaft locking device includes a locking unit having a transmission gear receiving rotary torque from a power source, transmitting rotary torque to a rotary shaft as the transmission gear receives rotary torque from the power source, and locking the rotary shaft as transmission of rotary torque from the power source is cut off, and a first planetary gear and a second planetary gear provided to be meshed with a sun gear and to planetarily move around the sun gear, and displaced between a meshed position and an unmeshed position so as to be meshed with and separated from the transmission gear. The locking unit locks the rotary shaft for a power cutoff time which occurs when the rotation direction of the sun gear is switched and for which the transmission gear is not meshed with both the first planetary gear and the second planetary gear.

Rotary shaft locking device and recording apparatus having the same

A recording apparatus includes a holding tray, a transport driving roller that applies a transport force to the other surface of the holding tray, and an ejection driving roller located downstream of the recording unit such that the ejection driving roller is placed on the same side as the transport driving roller. The other surface of the holding tray has an irregular pattern including a protrusion or a flat portion and a recess, the protrusion coming into contact with the outer surface of the transport driving roller, the recess being located so as to face the ejection driving roller.

A printing apparatus is provided. The printing apparatus forms a dot in a desired position of a printing sheet by ejecting an ink droplet from a nozzle. A static electricity eliminating mechanism eliminates static electricity generated on the printing sheet by a conductive portion that is arranged in a position to which the ink droplet is ejected from the nozzle or an upstream side of such position on a path through which the printing sheet passes. The conductive portion is formed in at least one of a sheet feed roller and an idle roller that carry the printing sheet. The sheet feed roller or the idle roller is formed by coating a predetermined insulating coating on a surface of a conductive rod-shaped member. The conductive portion is formed by stripping off a part of the coating on the sheet feed roller or the idle roller.
