The present disclosure provides a method in a wireless device for initiating a handover from a source base station to a target base station. The method includes calculating a power offset indicative of a difference between a receiving power from the target base station and a receiving power from the source base station. A Time Division Duplex (TDD) configuration difference is obtained between a TDD configuration of the target base station and a TDD configuration of the source base station. A TDD offset is calculated based on the TDD configuration difference and an uplink-downlink traffic model of the wireless device. The handover is initiated based on a combination of the power offset and the TDD offset exceeding a threshold. The present disclosure also provides a wireless device, a method in a base station and a base station.

Method for initiating handover, wireless device and base station

The present disclosure relates to a link adaptation scheme. In one embodiment, there provides a method for performing link adaptation in an uplink subframe for a first cell, the method comprising: obtaining interference to the uplink subframe of the first cell from at least one neighboring cell's downlink subframe occupying a time interval same as the uplink subframe; determining whether the obtained interference exceeds a predetermined threshold; and applying to the uplink subframe a first link adaptation loop when the obtained interference exceeds the predetermined threshold.

Methods for performing link adaptation and related base stations

The embodiments relate to a method and a base station () for interference management in a cellular network () employing Space-Division uplink (UL) downlink (DL) Duplexing (SDD). The base station () assigns a plurality of Remote Radio Units (RRU) as Tx RRUs operable to dedicatedly transmit downlink signals to a plurality of UEs and Rx RRUs operable to dedicatedly receive uplink signals from the plurality of UEs at the same frequency band and same time as the transmission of the Tx RRUs. The base station then suppresses the interference caused by simultaneous transmission on the same frequency band by using a Tx spatial beamforming weighting matrix and a Rx spatial beamforming weighting matrix. In addition, the base station may perform cross-talk cancellation on the residual interference contained in the received signals by using the knowledge of the downlink traffic data.

Method and a central base station for interference management in a cellular network

The present disclosure relates to a method in a User Equipment (UE) for use in handover from its serving base station to a neighboring base station. The method includes: performing one or more downlink quality measurements of the neighboring base station on one or more downlink subframes in a TDD configuration of the neighboring base station to obtain a downlink quality measurement result; and transmitting said downlink quality measurement result to the serving base station for enabling the serving base station to determine whether to trigger the handover or not.

According to an embodiment, a method of communicating with a relay located in a wireless network includes instructing the relay when to transmit reports based on a mapping of different categories of relay reports to one or more different reporting schemes. Reports are received from the relay based on the relay report category and the corresponding reporting scheme. According to another embodiment, a method of reporting information from a relay to a network node of a wireless network includes generating different categories of reports at the relay for transmission to the network node. The present invention provides a method in a base station for determining channel interference in a radio network comprising a device-to-device, D2D, capable UE and the base station serving at least one cellular UE, said method comprising: configuring the at least one cellular UE with a cellular uplink Reference Symbol, RS, related parameter; transmitting the cellular uplink RS related parameter associated with the at least one cellular UE to the D2D capable UE; and obtaining information of interference to the D2D capable UE measured by the D2D capable UE using the cellular uplink RS related parameter. The present invention also provides a corresponding method in D2D capable UE and the devices thereof. This achieves a more accurate the interference channel measurement in multi-cell and multi-antenna scenario.

A method and arrangement for estimating the current channel quality for a data transfer in a mobile network. In a sending system entity, a channel quality estimate (CQE) associated with a data transfer to a receiving system entity in a mobile communication network is adjusted. One or more probing packets are communicatedbetween the sending system entity and the receiving system entity, each probing packet being formatted according to a predefined combination of transmission parameters. Furthermore, is a Channel State Information (CSI) report receivedfrom the receiving system entity, and the CQE is adjustedbased on the CSI report and which probing packets have been successfully communicated. By sending a sequence of probing packets, each formatted according to a predefined combination of transmission parameters, and not waiting for each packet to be acknowledged, a fast and accurate estimation of the current channel quality is achieved.

The present invention relates to a method for determining link adaptation parameters for a wireless device. The method is performed in a first radio network node of a wireless communication system. The first radio network node hosts a first cell serving the wireless device. The wireless device is interfered by a second cell. The method comprises predicting () a future position of the wireless device. The method also comprises estimating () a first radio channel quality value for the wireless device in the predicted future position, based on: pathloss values related to the wireless device in the predicted future position for the first and the second cell respectively; and a transmission power of the second cell. The method further comprises determining () link adaptation parameters for the scheduling of the wireless device in the future position using the estimated first radio channel quality value.
