According to various embodiments, a method of forming an image on a fabric and the resulting fabric is disclosed. The method includes providing a printable media including a carrier layer having a first surface comprising a first area and a second surface opposite the first surface. The method includes providing a fabric layer having a third surface and a fourth surface opposite the third surface, the third surface includes a second area. The fabric layer is secured to the carrier layer by the adhesive bonding a first portion of the fourth surface to the first surface. The method includes applying a toner to a first portion of the third surface of the fabric layer. The toner includes antimicrobial nanoparticles on an outer surface of the toner. The method includes fusing the toner to the first portion of the third surface of the fabric layer.

Fluorescent magenta latexes are provided which may comprise water and fluorescent agent-incorporated resin particles, the particles comprising a resin, Solvent Red 49 as a red fluorescent agent, and Solvent Yellow 98 as a yellow fluorescent agent, wherein the fluorescent magenta latex has a weight ratio of the Solvent Red 49 to the Solvent Yellow 98 in a range of from 3:1 to 10:1. Fluorescent green toners are provided. In embodiments, a fluorescent green toner comprises fluorescent agent-incorporated resin particles comprising a resin, a fluorescence brightener, and a yellow fluorescent agent having an absorption spectrum that overlaps with a fluorescence emission spectrum of the fluorescence brightener; and a cyan colorant; blue dye-incorporated resin particles comprising the resin and a blue dye; or both. The fluorescent green toner has a weight ratio of the yellow fluorescent agent to the cyan colorant and, if present, the blue dye, in a range of from 100:1 to 0.2:1, and the fluorescent green toner exhibits F&#xf6;rster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) under illumination with UV light. Methods of making and using the fluorescent green toners are also provided.

Fluorescent white toners and related methods

Described herein is a metallic toner. The metallic toner includes flake shape toner particles having a binder resin, zinc stearate, silica having a particle size of from 7 nm to less than 12 nm in an amount of about 0.1 weight percent to 1.0 about weight percent of the flake shape toner particle and tabular shape metallic pigments. The flake shape toner particles have an average major axis length of from 6 &#x3bc;m to 20 &#x3bc;m, an average thickness of from 1 &#x3bc;m to 4 &#x3bc;m and an average circularity of from 0.5 to 0.97. The tabular shape metallic pigments have an average major axis length of from 1 &#x3bc;m to 14 &#x3bc;m an average thickness of from 0.01 &#x3bc;m to 0.5 &#x3bc;m.

Described herein is a method of manufacturing a fuser member. The method includes mixing a high load fluoropolymer/carbon nanotube composition in a high shear mixer. The method includes mixing the high load fluoropolymer/carbon nanotube composition in the high shear mixer for 3 or more times. A fluoropolymer is added to the high load fluoropolymer/carbon nanotube composition to form a low load fluoropolymer/carbon nanotube composition. The low load fluoropolymer/carbon nanotube composition is mixed in a rubber compounding mixer for 3 or more times. The low load fluoropolymer/carbon nanotube composition is coated on a fuser substrate, cured and polished.

Described is a fuser member including a substrate and a release layer disposed on the substrate. The release layer includes a fluoropolymer having a plurality of metal fibers having a diameter of from about 5 nanometers to about 20 microns dispersed throughout the fluoropolymer. A method of manufacturing the fuser member is also provided.

Surface layer and fuser member

An apparatus and method of manufacturing a fluorosilicone composite for a variable data lithography imaging member surface layer. Examples of the fluorosilicone composite include a first part and a second part, the first part having fluorosilicone, carbon black, silica and butyl acetate, the second part having a platinum catalyst, a crosslinker, butyl acetate and an inhibitor. The first part may also include a dispersant (e.g., a polyoxyalkylene amine derivative) that removes a need for shaking the dispersion by paint shaker and instead allows a more manufacture friendly roll ball milling process. The dispersant will also help in stabilizing the fluorosilicone composite for scaled up production.
