A photoelectric conversion element includes a substrate and an optical element. The substrate has a first surface on which reflected light reflected from an object is incident, and includes a first semiconductor region and a second semiconductor region, the second semiconductor region being formed in a direction perpendicular to the first surface and extended from the first surface toward an inside of the substrate. The optical element is positioned on a first surface side of the substrate and collects the reflected light to the second semiconductor region. The first semiconductor region includes a first conductive type semiconductor, the second semiconductor region includes a second conductive type semiconductor. The substrate and the optical element are structured such that a relational expression 0.95*exp(−α(λ)*z)≤B(z)/A1≤1.05*exp(−α(λ)*z) is established at a distance z=z0 when A1≥A2 is satisfied and a distance z0=In(2)/α(λ) is established.

Photoelectric conversion element, image sensing device, and imaging system

A photoelectric conversion device including a substrate including a charge generation region, a dielectric layer formed on the substrate, and a phase adjustment layer formed on the dielectric layer and having an upper surface and a lower surface. In a cross-sectional view of the photoelectric conversion device, a first plane extends parallel to the substrate in contact with the upper surface of the phase adjustment layer, a second plane is the lower surface of the phase adjustment layer, and the phase adjustment layer is formed such that the reflected light which has entered the first plane perpendicularly to the photoelectric conversion device and travels from the first plane to the second plane has an optical path length that varies depending on a position where the reflected light is incident on the first plane.

Distance-image capturing apparatus and distance-image capturing method

An illuminating device includes a light source which outputs light, a light guide member having an incident surface on which the light from the light source is incident, an output surface through which the light is output from the light guide member, and a light deflection surface on which light deflection elements are formed such that the light is guided toward the output surface, and an isotropic light diffusion member positioned over the output surface of the light guide member. The light guide member has the incident surface extended in an X direction and includes a unit lens formed on the output surface and extended in a Y direction orthogonal to the X direction. A light-deflection element density D representing a number of the light deflection elements per unit area increases as the light deflection elements are positioned farther away from the incident surface.

Illuminating device and display

An illuminating device acceding to the present invention has light sources, a light guide body which emits lights incident from the light sources, and a blurring structure, and, on the surface opposing to the emission surface of the light guide body, the light deflection elements which guide lights incident from the light sources toward the emission surface are formed regularly in two-dimensional direction of the first direction and second direction. The blurring structure has a function of blurring the light deflection elements regularly formed in the two-dimensional direction, and this blurring structure converts incident lights into linear lights inclined in the direction of the angle &#x3b8; with respect to the first direction.
