A display device comprised by being provided with: an image source for emitting image light; a lens for enlarging the image light and emitting the image light to the viewer side; and an optical sheet disposed between the image source and the lens or on the viewer side of the lens, wherein the optical sheet comprises at least two or more layers, a plurality of convex shapes are formed at interfaces between the layers, a difference &#x394;n in refractive index between the layers adjacent to each other satisfies 0.005&#x2264;&#x394;n&#x2264;0.1, a half-value angle &#x3b1; of the optical sheet satisfies 0.05&#xb0;&#x2264;&#x3b1;&#x2264;0.2&#xb0;, and a diffusion angle &#x3b2; of the optical sheet at which a maximum brightness becomes 1/20 satisfies &#x3b2;&#x2264;5&#xd7;&#x3b1;.

The present invention provides an optical layered body that has multiple laminated layers of which the refractive indexes are greatly different. The optical layered body can suitably prevent interfacial reflection and interference fringes attributed to the reflection in the interfaces between the layers. The optical layered body has a light-transmitting substrate, and at least an optical functional layer (1) on one surface of the substrate, wherein the refractive index of the optical functional layer (1) in the thickness direction continuously increases from the surface on the light-transmitting substrate side to the surface opposite to the light-transmitting substrate side to show a sigmoid curve.
