A touch detecting method comprises: enabling a sample signal in a period between driving a previous gate line and a previous two gate line before a corresponding gate line of a sense unit, and sampling a readout signal in a corresponding readout line during a sample period corresponding to the enabled sample signal by a readout unit; using the sampled readout signal during the sample period by the readout unit as a sample reference signal; enabling a sense readout signal in a period between driving the corresponding gate line of the sense unit and a next gate line, and reading out the readout signal during a sense readout period corresponding to the enabled sense readout signal; using the readout signal during the sense readout period as a sense signal; and judging whether the sense unit is touched according to the sample reference signal and the sense signal.

Touch detecting method and flat display device with in-cell touch panel

A method for determining scanning times of touch driving pulse in a touch panel includes steps of: judging a current gate line scan period is in which one of a data updating time period and a blanking time period; if the current gate line scan period is in the data updating time period, setting a scanning times of touch driving pulse in the current gate line scan period to be a first value; and if the current gate line scan period is in the blanking time period, setting the scanning times of touch driving pulse in the current gate line scan period to be a second value. The first value is different from the second value, and a time for touch driving pulse scanning is non-overlapped with another time for providing display data to data lines of the touch panel in each scan line scan period.

A method for controlling operations of a touch panel includes synchronizing timing of a plurality of gate lines and timing of a plurality of touch sensors; determining whether polarities of common voltages of a display layer are consistent when driving signals are outputted to a first gate line and a second gate line, the second gate line following the first gate line; and if the polarities are consistent, outputting at least one driving pulse to a touch sensor of the plurality of touch sensors after image data corresponding to the second gate line is transmitted to the display layer.

While correcting and recording initial touch points on a touch panel, a plurality of sensors on the touch panel are classified into a plurality of first sensing groups assigned with serial numbers, and a plurality of sensors of each the first sensing group are equally divided into a plurality of second sensing groups assigned with serial numbers. After detecting initial touch points on the touch panel, a plurality of headers are generated for the plurality of first sensing groups, and a data structure is generated for each of the sensors having detected initial touch points according to whether first sensing groups corresponding to the headers have the sensors having the detected initial touch points or not. At last, the initial touch points are filtered off from a plurality of detected touch points on the touch panel, according to initial touch point information recorded in loaded data structures.

Method for correcting and recording initial touch points on touch panel

A signal processing method is employed to operate a touch panel having a first touch sensing unit and plural second touch sensing units adjacent to the first touch sensing unit. In the operation of the method, a first signal is generated through amplifying the first sensing signal of the first touch sensing unit by N times with N equal to the number of the second touch sensing units, a second signal is generated through summing up the second sensing signals of the second touch sensing unit, a difference signal is generated through subtracting the second signal from the first signal, a comparison result is generated through comparing the difference signal with a difference threshold, and finally the comparison result is utilized for judging whether a touch event is occurring to the first touch sensing unit.

An exemplary capacitive touch detection system includes a capacitive touch panel and a detection control circuit. The capacitive touch panel includes a plurality of input terminals and output terminals. The detection control circuit includes a scanning signal transmitting module electrically coupled to the input terminals and a detection signal receiving and waveform shaping module including a receiver and an impedance-matching network. The detection signal receiving and waveform shaping module is electrically coupled to the output terminals for receiving and processing a plurality of detection signals outputted from the respective output terminals and thereby producing a plurality of processed detection signals. The receiver is used for receiving the detection signals. The impedance-matching network is used for performing a waveform shaping operation applied to the detection signals to compensate an effect caused by uneven RC loading distribution in the capacitive touch panel and thereby producing the processed detection signals.

SNR enhancement for differential input device

A touch panel device having high touch sensitivity includes sensing capacitors, switches, storage capacitors, a differential amplifier and a signal processing unit. During a sense period, the switches are periodically turned on alternately for periodically transferring the charges of the sensing capacitors to the storage capacitors. The differential amplifier is put in use for amplifying the voltage difference of two corresponding storage capacitors for generating a touch readout signal. The signal processing unit performs an OR operation on two touch readout signals generated during different sense periods based on different sensing capacitor combinations regarding same panel touch position for providing a touch position signal.

A method for detecting multiple touch positions on a touch panel includes the steps of: periodically scanning the touch panel; when detecting a first touch position at a first time during scanning the touch panel, recording coordinates on a first dimensional direction and a second dimensional direction of the first touch position; continuingly scanning the touch panel after the first time; and when detecting a plurality of new possible touch positions at a second time, determining a second touch position from the new possible touch positions according to the recorded coordinates on the first and second dimensional directions of the first touch position.

An exemplary detecting method for a photo-sensor touch panel and a touch-sensitive electronic apparatus using the same are provided. In aforementioned method, an image frame is obtained by scanning the photo-sensor touch panel. Then, a distribution area of data points in the image frame each having a brightness between a predetermined brightness and a first threshold brightness is defined as a first sensing area, and a distribution area of data points in the image frame each having a brightness between the predetermined brightness and a second threshold brightness is defined as a second sensing area. A multi-touch positioning method for a capacitive touch panel includes following steps. A candidate touching position array including a first and a second candidate position groups is generated when the capacitive touch panel is touched by three objects. The first, the second and the third candidate position groups include three candidate positions, respectively. The signal magnitude sensed by a sensing element and respectively corresponding to the first, the second and the third candidate position groups are compared. One of the three first, the three second and the three third candidate positions are respectively determined as a first, a second and a third actual touching positions according to the compared result.
