A display apparatus including a first substrate, a second substrate and a display medium is provided. The display medium is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a first data line, a second data line and a pixel. The first data line and the second data line respectively disposed over a first base plate. The pixel includes a pixel electrode layer and a common electrode layer. The pixel electrode layer is electrically connected to one of the first data line and the second data line. The common electrode layer is formed over the pixel electrode layer and includes a first slit nearest to the first data line. The first slit has a first end and a second end. The first slit is bent at the first end of the first slit but is not bent at the second end of the first slit.

A display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a display medium layer, and a light-shielding pattern. The second substrate includes a conductive wire. The display medium layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The light-shielding pattern is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The conductive wire is projected onto the first substrate along a first direction to obtain a projected line. The projected line includes a first border. The light-shielding pattern includes a first edge. The first edge includes a first curving rim. The first curving rim is adjacent to the first border.

A display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate and a light shielding layer located between the first substrate and the second substrate. The light shielding layer includes first connecting portions extending along a first direction, second connecting portions extending along a second direction, extending portions and sub-extending portions connected by the first and second connecting portions. The first connecting portions and the second connecting portions define sub-pixels. The sub-pixels include a first sub-pixel. A projection of the extending portions on the first substrate overlaps the first sub-pixel to form a first overlapping area. A projection of the sub-extending portions on the first substrate overlaps the first sub-pixel to form a second overlapping area. The first overlapping area is greater than the second overlapping area. A largest width of the extending portions is greater than a largest width of the sub-extending portions in the first direction.

Display panel

A display apparatus, including a first substrate, a second substrate and a display medium, is provided. The first substrate includes a gate line, a first data line and a second data line. The first data line and the second data line intersect with the gate line to define a pixel including a pixel electrode layer and a common electrode layer. The common electrode layer at least includes a first slit having first and second end portions, and a second slit having third and fourth end portions. A largest distance from the edge of the first end portion near the first data line to the first data line is defined as a first distance. A largest distance from the edge of the second end portion near the first data line to the first data line is defined as a second distance, which is larger than the first distance.

A display device is provided. The display device includes an array substrate including a substrate and a first electrode having an opening, wherein the opening has an edge. The array substrate further includes a second electrode disposed over the first electrode and including a first finger portion having a first side and a second side opposite to the first side. The second electrode further includes a connection portion connecting the first finger portion at the edge, wherein the connection portion has a first concavity at the first side and a second concavity at the second side, and a length of the first concavity is greater than a length of the second concavity. The display device further includes an opposite substrate and a display medium.

A display panel comprises a first substrate, a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates, and a pixel array disposed on the first substrate and including at least one pixel, which includes a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer and an insulation layer disposed between the first and second electrode layers. The second electrode layer has n electrode portions, the electrode portions are spaced from each other and disposed along a first direction, an electrode width of one of the electrode portions along the first direction is denoted by W (&#x3bc;m), the maximum width of a light-emitting area of the pixel along the first direction is denoted by Ax (&#x3bc;m), and the equation is satisfied as below: 

Display panel and display device

A display device comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, a display medium layer disposed between the first and second substrates, and a light-shielding pattern disposed between the first and second substrates. The second substrate comprises a plurality of conductive wires. One of the conductive wires is projected onto the light-shielding pattern along a first direction, thereby obtaining a projected line within the light-shielding pattern. The projected line comprises a curved portion and two extending portions respectively connected to two ends of the curved portion. A distance between an edge of the light-shielding pattern and the curved portion of the projected line along a second direction is not equal to a distance between the edge of the light-shielding pattern and one of the extending portions along the second direction. The first direction is perpendicular to the second direction.

A display panel comprising a first substrate, a second substrate and a light shielding layer is provided. The first substrate comprises several display units arranged in a matrix and forming an image display region. The display units comprise m*n pixels arranged in a matrix. The second substrate is opposite to the first substrate. The light shielding layer located between the first substrate and the second substrate comprises several extending portions. The projection of one of the extending portions on the first substrate overlaps at least one of the pixels. Each pixel having the largest overlapping area with the extending portion is a first pixel, and other pixels are second pixels. In each display unit, there is at most one first pixel per column or per row. In the image display region, all of the pixels adjacent to the first pixel are second pixels.

A pixel array is disposed on a first substrate and comprises a pixel having a first electrode layer including a plurality of electrode portions. A light-blocking layer is disposed on a second substrate along a first direction and includes a first light-blocking portion and a second light-blocking portion. The first electrode layer is between the first light-blocking portion and the second light-blocking portion. The first light-blocking portion has a first edge away from the first electrode layer, and the electrode portions include a first electrode portion adjacent to the first light-blocking portion. A brightness distribution of the pixel along the first direction has a first maximum brightness corresponding to a first position on the second substrate. PTB denotes the minimum width from the first position to the first edge, Px denotes the width of the pixel along the first direction, conforming to the following equation: 

A pixel array is disposed on a first substrate and comprises a pixel having a first electrode layer including a plurality of electrode portions. A light-blocking layer is disposed on a second substrate along a first direction and includes a first and second light-blocking portions. The first electrode layer is between the first and second light-blocking portions. The first light-blocking portion has a first edge away from the first electrode layer, and the electrode portions include a first electrode portion adjacent to the first light-blocking portion. A brightness distribution of the pixel along the first direction has a first maximum brightness corresponding to a first position on the second substrate.
