The display device includes a substrate including a display area and a non-display area, a light-emitting element layer in the display and non-display areas, a color conversion layer including a bank in the display and non-display areas, a capping layer in the display and non-display areas and covering the bank, a plurality of color filters in the display and non-display areas and the plurality of color filters in the non-display area overlapping each other, and an overcoat layer in the display and non-display areas and covering the plurality of color filters. Each of the substrate, the capping layer, the plurality of color filters, and the overcoat layer has a lateral side which is furthest from the display area, and the lateral sides of the substrate, the capping layer, each of the plurality of color filters, and the overcoat layer are aligned with one another.

Display device and method for providing the same

A display device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present inventive concept includes: a substrate; a data line and a thin film transistor disposed on the substrate; a common electrode and a pixel electrode disposed on the thin film transistor and overlapping each other by interposing an insulating layer therebetween; a roof layer formed to be separated from the pixel electrode and the common electrode while interposing a microcavity therebetween and having an injection hole partially exposing the microcavity; a liquid crystal layer filling the microcavity; an overcoat formed on the roof layer to cover the injection hole and sealing the microcavity. The pixel electrode includes an auxiliary electrode that is formed on the data line, the auxiliary electrode overlapping and being insulated from the data line.

Display device

A curved display device includes: a substrate including a display area; a plurality of thin film transistors disposed on the substrate; a plurality of pixel electrodes respectively connected to the plurality of thin film transistors; a liquid crystal layer disposed on the pixel electrodes and filling a plurality of microcavities; a common electrode facing the plurality of pixel electrodes and separated with the plurality of microcavities; and a roof layer formed on the common electrode. The plurality of microcavities are formed in a matrix form including a plurality of columns and rows, and the display area includes an edge portion and a center portion. A first height of the plurality of microcavities formed at the edge portion of the display area is lower than that a second height of the plurality of microcavities formed at the center portion of the display area. An area of a pixel disposed at the edge portion of the display area may be adjusted such that light leakage and spots at the edge portion may be improved.

Curved display device

A display device includes a substrate, a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode, a roof layer, a plurality of microcavities, a groove, liquid crystal molecules, and an encapsulation layer. The thin film transistor is disposed on the substrate. The pixel electrode is connected to the thin film transistor. The roof layer is disposed on the pixel electrode so as to be spaced apart from the pixel electrode while interposing the plurality of microcavities. The groove is formed in a first surface of the roof layer. The liquid crystal molecules are disposed in the microcavities. The encapsulation layer is disposed on the roof layer and seals the liquid crystal molecules in the microcavities.

Display device comprising a plurality of microcavities and a roof layer having a partition wall portion between the plurality of microcavities

The present invention provides a quantum dot panel, including: a first substrate; a plurality of first cavities formed on the first substrate, so that adjacent ones of the cavities are separated from each other; a first roof layer covering the cavities so as to at least partially define the cavities; quantum dots contained in the first cavities; and a distribution layer in which the quantum dots are distributed and which is disposed within the first cavities. The quantum dot panel according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention includes quantum dots contained within predetermined structures formed on the substrate, thereby improving reliability of the quantum dot panel and simplifying the manufacturing process thereof.

Quantum dot panel and display device including the same

A curved liquid crystal display and a method of manufacturing it are presented. The display includes: a substrate having a central portion; a thin film transistor disposed on the substrate; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor; and a roof layer disposed to face the pixel electrode; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the pixel electrode and the roof layer and formed by a plurality of microcavities, wherein the microcavities hold a liquid crystal material, wherein a difference between a maximum cell gap and a minimum cell gap in each of the microcavities increases with distance from the central portion of the substrate.

A manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display includes forming a sacrificial layer on a liquid crystal panel, forming an etch stop layer on the sacrificial layer, forming a photo resist pattern on the etch stop layer, completing the etch stop layer using the photo resist pattern as a mask, ashing the photo resist pattern and the sacrificial layer by using the completed etch stop layer as a mask, forming a microcavity by removing a portion of the sacrificial layer and forming a liquid crystal layer in the microcavity.
