Provided are an electrode structure and a lithium battery including the same. The electrode structure may include a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a first separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, wherein the positive electrode and the negative electrode have active material layers having different loading levels. A lithium battery may have improved high rate characteristics and lifespan characteristics by including the electrode structure.

A rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly, a pouch accommodating the electrode assembly, and including first and second exterior members facing each other with the electrode assembly therebetween, and a sealing portion having a sealing width and sealing the first exterior member and the second exterior member along an outer edge of the electrode assembly, and lead tabs electrically connected to the electrode assembly and drawn to the outside of the pouch, wherein the sealing portions define grooves, each of the grooves having a size that is less than the sealing width, and wherein the sealing portion is bent along the outer edge of the electrode assembly and attached to a side surface of the pouch.

A rechargeable battery including an electrode assembly that is chargeable and dischargeable, the electrode assembly including a first assembly portion and a second assembly portion; a case accommodating the electrode assembly therein; a cap plate coupled to the case; and an electrode terminal group connected to the electrode assembly through a lead tab, the electrode terminal group being in a terminal hole of the cap plate, wherein the electrode terminal group includes three electrode terminals that are selectively connected to first electrodes and second electrodes of the first assembly portion and the second assembly portion.
