The first UE establishes a PC5 connection with a relay UE for supporting a relay communication between the first UE and a second UE via the relay UE, wherein a direct link context associated with the relay communication includes a layer-2 Identity (ID) of the second UE. The first UE initiates a link identifier update (LIU) procedure with the second UE via the relay UE, wherein the first UE receives a LIU response message from the second UE in the LIU procedure, and the LIU response message includes a new layer-2 ID of the second UE. The first UE does not update the direct link context with the new layer-2 ID of the second UE or the first UE keeps the layer-2 ID of the second UE in the direct link context without updating the direct link context with the new layer-2 ID of the second UE.

In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), the UE receives one or more signals indicative of a first Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) and a second PUSCH on a first cell and in a Transmission Time Interval (TTI). The UE determines to transmit a first Uplink Control Information (UCI) in the TTI, wherein the first UCI overlaps with the first PUSCH and the second PUSCH in time domain. The UE selects the first PUSCH for multiplexing the first UCI based on whether the UE is configured with joint Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback mode or separate HARQ feedback mode. The UE transmits the first PUSCH and the second PUSCH on the first cell, wherein the first PUSCH transmitted on the first cell includes the first UCI.

The UL grant is indicative of a first Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) transmission on a first Transmission/Reception Point (TRP) of a first cell. The UL grant is not indicative of a PUSCH transmission on a second TRP of the first cell. The UE transmits a Power Headroom Reporting (PHR) Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE). Based on the UL grant, the PHR MAC CE is indicative of a first power headroom (PH), associated with the first TRP, based on a real PUSCH transmission, and is indicative of a second PH, associated with the second TRP, based on a reference PUSCH transmission.

The UE stops monitoring paging in a serving cell for the second USIM based on a time domain pattern derived using a second UE Identifier (UE ID) associated with the second USIM, wherein the stopping monitoring paging is performed when the UE state corresponding to the first USIM is connected state and a UE state corresponding to the second USIM is idle state or inactive state.
