A portable electronic device is provided. A power management unit provides a first voltage and a second voltage. A multi-core cluster includes a first processing core configured to be powered by the first voltage and operate at a first operating frequency and a second processing core configured to be powered by the first voltage or the second voltage and operate at a second operating frequency. A third processing core is configured to be powered by the second voltage and operate at a third operating frequency. A first switch is configured to selectively provide the second voltage to the third processing core or stop providing the second voltage to the third processing core according to a first control signal. A second switch is configured to selectively provide the first voltage or the second voltage to the second processing core according to a second control signal.

Portable electronic device and core swapping method thereof

A portable electronic device includes a power management unit, a sense module, a receiver module and an application processor. The sense module powered by a first operating voltage from the power management unit provides a first control signal in response to a sense event when the portable electronic device is in a sleep mode. The receiver module is powered by a second operating voltage from the power management unit in response to the first control signal. When the receiver module is powered by the second operating voltage, the receiver module obtains and recognizes an input event and provides a second control signal when the input event is recognized. The application processor is powered by a third operating voltage from the power management unit in response to the second control signal.

Portable apparatus using multi-core storage mechanism and data access method therefor are provided. The portable apparatus includes a host circuit for controlling the portable apparatus, having a plurality of channels for being coupled to a multi-core storage unit so as to perform write or read operation. The host circuit divides data to be written into a plurality of groups of block data and the host circuit outputs the groups of block data through at least two channels of the plurality of channels separately so as to write the data blocks into the multi-core storage unit.

A portable electronic device includes a wireless communication module, a processing unit, a display device and a backlight driver. The wireless communication module wirelessly collects location information from at least one remote station. The processing unit executes a positioning application and thereby calculates a position of the portable electronic device based on the collected location information. The display device operates at a bright mode when the calculated position indicates that the portable electronic device is kept being moved. The backlight driver is coupled to the processing unit, and, the processing unit is further configured to control the backlight driver to make the display device leave the bright mode and enter a dim mode when the calculated position indicates that the portable electronic device is not moved for a first predetermined time period.

Portable electronic device and power-saving method therefor

A portable electronic apparatus consists of a wireless module, a micro-processing unit, a determining circuit, and a control circuit. The wireless module provides a wireless communication function, and a first controller of the micro-processing unit provides a data access function. When a designated device is coupled to the portable electronic apparatus, the determining circuit determines whether to use the wireless communication function and whether to use the data access function in order to generate a determining result. The control circuit selectively connects a transmission interface of the first controller or a transmission interface of the wireless module to the designated device according to the determining result. When the control circuit connects the transmission interface of the wireless module to the designated device, the portable electronic apparatus is simulated as a wireless communication product.
