Authentication based on a target uniform resource identifier (URI) via security proxies. A framework for creating, updating and deleting authentication groups according to a destination URI may be provided. Each of the authentication groups may have a corresponding adaptable authentication scheme. An access from a client to a server may be classified into an authentication group. An authentication request from the client to the server may be intercepted by an authentication scheme based on the authentication group. A session based cookie may be utilized for supporting access between the client and the server.

Reducing complexities of authentication and authorization for enterprise web-based social applications

For managing a pool of virtual computer systems, master status and a rebasing task are assigned to at least one virtual computer system of the pool. A non-reserved status is assigned to virtual computer systems of the pool that are not assigned tasks. A virtual computer system of the pool is selected to respond to a rebasing request. The selecting includes selecting one of the at least one virtual computer system that currently has a master status and that currently has a processing load less than a predetermined threshold and, when no virtual computer system of the pool currently has a master status and a processing load less than the predetermined threshold, selecting a non-reserved one of the virtual computer systems to perform rebasing for the request and changing the non-reserved status of the selected, non-reserved one of the virtual computer systems to master status.

A method includes registering with a first remote conference manager operated by a first entity and a request to enable conferencing with a second entity. The method also includes querying the first remote conference manager for at least one conference room hosted by the second entity and updating a directory of conference rooms comprising at least one local conference room to further comprise the at least one remote conference room. The method further includes receiving a request to schedule a conference. Upon determining at least one remote conference room is to be used for the scheduled conference, the method also includes transmitting the request to the first remote conference manager. Upon the second remote conference manager transmitting an acceptance of the conference, the method also includes receiving details from the first remote conference manager for establishing a connection for use with the conference and transmitting the details to the at least one local conference room.

Physical links between an access switch and a pair aggregation switches are aggregated into a virtual link aggregation group (vLAG). Each aggregation switch is a local switch to itself and a remote switch to the other aggregation switch. Each aggregation switch maintains a state machine including initialization, local-up, remote-up, and formed states. In the initialization state, the physical link between the access switch and each aggregation switch is down, and the vLAG is down. In the local-up state, just the physical link between the access switch and the local switch is up, and the vLAG is down. In the remote-up state, just the physical link between the access switch and the remote switch is up, and the vLAG is down. In the formed state, the physical link between the access switch and each aggregation switch is up, and the vLAG is up.

A method and apparatus for resorting a sequence of sorted strings, wherein the sequence of sorted strings is obtained by sorting a plurality of strings based on a first character collation standard and the resorting is based on a second character collation standard. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the invention includes: comparing the first character collation standard with the second character collation standard to obtain a change of the character collation standard; and resorting the sequence of sorted strings based on the change of the character collation standard. The method of the present invention takes the change of the character collation standard and its affection to the sequence of sorted strings into consideration, and can resort the sequence of sorted strings quickly and thus save time for resorting.
