An automatic identification system and method for printer recordable media, which detects two or more different record media to be printed by a printer. The different record media have different load features. The system includes a transport device, a driving device, a photo encoder, a photosensor and a processor. The transport device delivers different record media. The driving device drives the transport device. The photo encoder is implemented on the transport device such that when the transport device delivers the different record media, the photo encoder can produce a position signal respectively of the different record media. The photosensor detects the position signals. The processor receives and processes the position signals to thus identify the different record media.

Automatic identification system and method for printer recordable media

A method and an apparatus of flexibly controlling printing speed and quality are disclosed. The method controls the inkjet printhead module under the draft print mode. According to the moving distance of the inkjet printhead module, the apparatus generates the address sequence reset signal. According to the address sequence reset signal, the apparatus outputs a plurality of address signals to the printhead. When the address sequence reset signal is enabled, the apparatus re-outputs the address signal to the printhead and transmits the primitive data to the printhead according to the sequence of the address signals.

Method and apparatus of flexibly controlling print throughput and quality

A compound inkjet print head printer has a compound print head module. The compound print head module includes at least two inkjet print heads for providing ink droplets of one color but with different sizes. Since the compound inkjet print head module provides different sizes of ink droplets in a swath, the number of print swaths can be decreased. The compound inkjet print head printer increases a printing speed with high photo quality.

A circuit and a method of estimating pulse frequencies of nozzles in an ink-jet head use a new mechanism of estimating pulse frequencies of nozzles instead of in a conventional counting mechanism. The circuit includes a DRAM, an adder and a method control mechanism. The method control mechanism controls the access method. The DRAM retrieves a plurality of pulse frequency parameters of nozzles after ink-jet cycle signals are received. The adder adds the parameters and weighted values to update pulse frequency parameters. The updated parameters are saved back to the DRAM.

Circuit and method for estimating pulse frequency of nozzle in ink-jet head

A method creates printing data applied to a printer that is capable of generating different sizes of ink drops. Firstly, a halftoning threshold table is created based on all possible combinations that are determined based on the quantity of the printheads and the sizes of ink drops quantity provided by each printhead. When the image data to be printed is received, each pixel of an image will correspond to one combination based on the halftoning threshold table. The corresponding combination is deemed as a halftoning encoded data and represented by several bits. These bits can be separated into plural groups, where the bits contained in each group are for driving a specific printhead. That is to say, each printhead has its own driving data so that the printing process will have superior efficiency.

Method for creating printing data applied to a printer capable of generating ink droplets of different sizes

A method of arranging orifices on a print head and the corresponding structure. The invention uses a design that changes relative positions of orifices on a print head so that different ink droplets for the same pixel fall in different areas of the pixel. The printing quality is enhanced because of a more homogeneous distribution of the ink droplets.
