In a pixel array substrate, scan lines intersect data lines to define first to third sub-pixel regions. First to third conductive parts are respectively disposed in the first to third sub-pixel regions. First to third capacitor electrodes are respectively disposed over the first to third conductive parts to form pixel storage capacitors. A spacer is disposed over the third capacitor electrode. At least one of a shape or a size of the third capacitor electrode is different from that of the first or second capacitor electrode.

Liquid crystal display having particular capacitor electrodes

A pixel structure to be disposed on a substrate is provided. The pixel structure includes a common line having a capacitor portion, an active device, a pixel electrode electrically connected to the active device and covering the capacitor portion, and an alignment layer covering at least the common line. The alignment layer has an alignment direction and the capacitor portion extends along a first direction that is substantially perpendicular to the alignment direction.

A display device includes a pixel region, a pixel electrode in the pixel region, and a capacitor electrode having at least first and second segments, where the first segment extends along a first direction with respect to the pixel electrode, and the second segment extends along a second direction with respect to the pixel electrode, and the first direction is angled with respect to the second direction. A transistor has an electrode with an extending portion overlapping a portion of the pixel electrode and a substantial portion of at least one of the first and second segments of the capacitor electrode. The transistor electrode and the pixel electrode together provide a counter electrode to the capacitor electrode.
