A method for managing electrical power to a server or server system is used in a power management system. The power management system comprises a power module, a backup power module, and a server system, the method comprises setting the server system to operate under a first working mode and controlling initialization of a BMC by an initialization command. A specified pin of the BMC is measured for a logic low voltage level and the server system is set to operate under a second working mode if the specified pin of the BMC is at the logic low voltage level. In different modes, the manner of supplying power and the working parameters of the server system are adjusted.

System and method for managing power to server

A lower-cost power distribution apparatus (PDU) using a lesser number of components that connects with many power supply units. The PDU comprises first and second switching modules, for outputting AC from a first or a second power source. The first switching module and the second switching module automatically switch between opposite states (turned on or turned off) based on the AC power source. At a given instant, the first switching module and the second switching module are in opposite states.

Power distribution unit with fewer components and system

An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) includes a rectifier, a buck converter, a solar energy module, a boost converter, a controller, and a power distribution unit (PDU). The solar energy module receives solar energy and converts the solar energy to a first DC voltage. The controller compares the first DC voltage with a preset voltage, and outputs a control signal to turn the boost converter on or off. When the boost converter is turned off, the rectifier receives an AC voltage from the AC power source and converts this to a rectified DC voltage which is output to the buck converter. When the boost converter is turned on, the boost converter converts the first DC voltage to a second DC voltage. The buck converter converts the rectified DC voltage or the first DC voltage to a working DC voltage and outputs to a power supply unit through the PDU.

Uninterruptible power supply

A power supply system is for supplying power to a number of loads, and includes a number of plugs, a number of power supply modules of the same type, and a number of current distribution modules. The plugs are respectively used for connecting to an external power source, to obtain alternating current. The power supply modules are connected to the respective plugs for converting the alternating current into direct current and providing the direct current to the loads according to the requirements of the loads. Each power supply module includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode, both of which connect to a corresponding load. The current distribution module electrically connects the positive electrodes to each other, and electrically connects the negative electrodes to each other, such that the power supply modules are connected in parallel.

Power supply system for rack server

A power supply system includes a distribution board, two power supplies, an interface board, and a cable. The interface board comprises two parallel connectors arranged at a center portion of a first side of the interface board, a pair of vents respectively defined beside the two connectors, and a first adapter connector formed at an end portion of the first side. The distribution board is coupled to a second side of the interface board and comprising a second adapter connector arranged thereon. The power supplies are respectively connected to the two connectors and each defines an air vent in alignment with the vents of the interface board. The cable is connected between the first adapter connector and the second adapter connector.

Power supply system

A power supply system for supplying power to a number of loads includes a number of power supply modules, a bus, and a control module. The power supply modules each comprises an input terminal receiving an input power and an output terminal outputting an output power, the input terminals of power supply modules having the same input power. The bus is configured for connecting the loads to the power supply modules. The control module calculates the ratio of the total output power of the power supply modules to the input power of one power supply module and controls the connection and the disconnection of the power supply modules according to the ratio.

A power managing system includes a power supply, a first converter, a second converter, and a complex programmable logic device. The power supply outputs a first verification signal and a first power upon the condition that the power supply receives a power supply on signal from a motherboard. The first and second converters convert the first power to a second power, a third power, and output a second verification signal, a third verification signal respectively. The complex programmable logic device outputs an enable signal to the motherboard to make the motherboard receive the first, the second, and the third powers upon the condition that the complex programmable logic device receives the first, the second, and the third verification signals.

Power managing system

A winding arrangement system of a planar transformer includes a primary winding arranges on a number of first circuit layers of a printed circuit board (PCB), and two secondary winding arranged on a number of second circuit layers. The turns of the primary winding are coupled in series. Each second circuit layer has a winding turn. A first half of the winding turn belongs to one of the two secondary winding. A second half of the winding turn belongs to the other of the two secondary winding. The first and second halves of winding turns on each of the second secondary circuit layers share a common grounded node. All of the first halves of winding turns are coupled in parallel. All of the second halves of winding turns are also coupled in parallel.

A transformer () with high sustain voltage includes a first bobbin (), a second bobbin (), a core assembly (), and an insulating frame (). The first bobbin defines a first hollow therein. The second bobbin is coupled to the first bobbin, and defines a second hollow therein. The core assembly includes a first iron core () partly received in the first hollow and a second iron core () partly received in the second hollow. The insulating frame is disposed between the first bobbin and the second bobbin, for insulatively isolating at least one part of the first iron core from the second iron core.
