A method of fabricating a semiconductor device includes providing a substrate that includes a handle substrate, a bottom cladding layer, and a semiconductor layer stacked in sequence from bottom to top. The substrate includes an electronic integrated circuit (EIC) region and a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) region. A thermal oxidation process is performed on the semiconductor layer in the PIC region to form an oxide layer. A first thickness of the semiconductor layer in the EIC region is greater than a second thickness of the semiconductor layer below the oxide layer. The oxide layer is removed and a PIC structure is formed on the bottom cladding layer in the PIC region. An EIC structure is formed on the bottom cladding layer in the EIC region. An interconnect structure is formed to be electrically connected to the PIC and EIC structures.

Semiconductor device and fabrication method thereof

A management device accepts a first communications device to join a wireless communications network managed by the management device. The management device registers a service provided by the first communications device. The service is available in accordance with a set of service parameters. The set of service parameters include a schedule of availability. The set of service parameters include at least one parameter selected from the group consisting of a set of one or more starting times, a set of one or more service intervals, a set of one or more service periods, a set of one or more physical media, a set of one or more device identifiers, a set of one or more data sequence identifiers, and at least one medium access mode within the service interval.

Service discovery in multi-medium communications networks

An access point (AP) accepts a communications device to join a wireless communications network. The AP registers a service provided by the communications device. The service is available in accordance with a schedule and a set of service parameters. The AP receives a request from a peer communications device seeking the service. The AP announces availability of the service on behalf of the communications device while the communications device is unavailable. The service is later provided by the communications device to the peer communications device when both devices are available to communicate. By utilizing an always-on AP to announce service availability and to exchange service parameters, fast service discovery can be achieved with low power consumption for both service advertisers and service seekers.

Service discovery with low power consumption in wireless communications networks

A device-centric discovery mechanism requiring very low power consumption to find out information about each other directly in a self-managed mobile environment is proposed. A mobile communications device joins a self-managed communications network, which does not have a centralized management entity. The mobile device receives a request from a peer communications device about publishing a service or subscribing to a service in accordance with a first schedule. The mobile device announce the request on behalf of the peer communications device in accordance with a second schedule. The service is then provided by a service advertiser to a service seeker in accordance with a third schedule.

Service discovery in a self-managed mobile communications network

A linking method employed by a first communication device includes: transmitting a first network domain information to a second communication device before/after a link with the second communication device is established; receiving a second network domain information from the second communication device before/after the link with the second communication device is established; and when the first communication device is decided to be a group owner before/after the link with the second communication device is established, determining a network domain address of the link according to the first network domain information and the second network domain information.

Linking method between communication devices and related machine readable medium

A method of setting a secure connection in a wireless communications system is disclosed. The method comprises setting a protocol information to a terminal; and checking a packet received in the terminal according to the protocol information; wherein the packet comprises a protocol type, a source port, and a destination port.
