A voltage regulator for converting an input voltage to an output voltage includes: a first and a second high-side switch, a first and a second low-side switch and a control terminal which is for generating a reference voltage or determining a forced pass-through mode. The output voltage is determined according to the reference voltage during a buck mode and a boost mode. When the input voltage is higher than a first threshold, the voltage regulator is operated in the buck mode. When the input voltage is lower than a second threshold, the voltage regulator is operated in the boost mode. When the input voltage is lower than the first threshold and is higher than the second threshold, the voltage regulator is operated in a pass-through mode. When a voltage of the control terminal is lower than a third threshold, the voltage regulator is operated in the forced pass-through mode.

Voltage regulator for use in flyback converter

A resonant flyback power converter includes: a first transistor and a second transistor which are configured to switch a transformer and a resonant capacitor for generating an output voltage; and a switching control circuit generating first and second driving signals for controlling the first and the second transistors. The turn-on of the first driving signal magnetizes the transformer. The second driving signal includes a resonant pulse having a resonant pulse width and a ZVS pulse during the DCM operation. The resonant pulse is configured to demagnetize the transformer. The resonant pulse has a first minimum resonant period for a first level of the output load and a second minimum resonant period for a second level of the output load. The first level is higher than the second level and the second minimum resonant period is shorter than the first minimum resonant period.

Resonant flyback power converter and switching control circuit and method thereof

A resonant flyback power converter includes: a first transistor and a second transistor which are configured to switch a transformer and a resonant capacitor for generating an output voltage; and a switching control circuit generating first and second driving signals for controlling the first and the second transistors. The turn-on of the first driving signal magnetizes the transformer. During a DCM (discontinuous conduction mode) operation, the second driving signal includes a resonant pulse for demagnetizing the transformer and a ZVS (zero voltage switching) pulse for achieving ZVS of the first transistor. The resonant pulse is skipped when the output voltage is lower than a low-voltage threshold.

A synchronous full-bridge rectifier circuit includes: a first high-side transistor, a first low-side transistor, a second high-side transistor and a second low-side transistor which are configured to generate a DC power source from an AC power source, wherein the first high-side transistor and the first low-side transistor are coupled to a live wire of the AC power source, and the second high-side transistor and the second low-side transistor are coupled to a neutral wire of the AC power source; a first detection transistor, coupled to the live wire and configured to generate a first detection signal; and a second detection transistor, coupled to the neutral wire configured to generate a second detection signal; wherein the first low-side transistor is turned on after the body-diode of the first low-side transistor is turned on; the second low-side transistor is turned on after the body-diode of the second low-side transistor is turned on.

Synchronous full-bridge rectifier circuit and rectifier switch controller thereof

A flyback power converter includes: a first transistor switching a transformer for generating a primary switching current and an output voltage; and a second transistor generating a circulated current to achieve ZVS (zero voltage switching) of the first transistor; wherein the flyback power converter actively forces at least one switching cycle to be operated in a DCM (discontinuous conduction mode) operation when the primary switching current is determined to have been operating in a non-DCM operation for a predetermined number of switching cycles. The flyback power converter generates a demagnetized signal which emulates the demagnetized time of the transformer for controlling the second transistor during the non-DCM operation. The flyback power converter calibrates the demagnetized signal according to the demagnetized time during the actively fored DCM operation.

A resonant half-bridge flyback power converter includes: a first transistor and a second transistor which form a half-bridge circuit; a transformer and a resonant capacitor connected in series and coupled to the half-bridge circuit; and a switching control circuit configured to generate a first driving signal and a second driving signal to control the first transistor and the second transistor respectively for switching the transformer to generate an output voltage. The first driving signal is configured to magnetize the transformer. The second driving signal includes at most one pulse between two consecutive pulses of the first driving signal. The switching control circuit generates a skipping cycle period when an output power is lower than a predetermined threshold. A resonant pulse of the second driving signal is skipped during the skipping cycle period. The skipping cycle period is increased in response to the decrease of the output power.

Resonant half-bridge flyback power converter with skipping cycles and control method thereof

A switched capacitor converter circuit includes: a conversion capacitor; an output capacitor; and switches configured to switch the coupling configurations of the conversion capacitor and the output capacitor according to a level of the first power supply voltage of the switched capacitor converter circuit, to generate the second power supply voltage at the output capacitor according to the first power supply voltage. The second power supply voltage provides power to control the power converter circuit. When the first power supply voltage is higher than a high threshold, the switched capacitor converter circuit controls the second power supply voltage to be lower than the first power supply voltage. When the first power supply voltage is lower than a low threshold, the switched capacitor converter circuit controls the second power supply voltage to be higher than the first power supply voltage.

Flyback power converter and switched capacitor converter circuit capable of step-up and step-down conversion thereof

A half-bridge flyback power converter: a first transistor, a second transistor and a third transistor which form a half-bridge circuit. The first transistor is turned on for generating a negative circulated current for achieving zero voltage switching of the second transistor. The second transistor is turned on for magnetizing a transformer. The third transistor is turned on during a demagnetized time period to generate an output voltage. The physical size of the first transistor is smaller than physical size of the third transistor.

Half-bridge flyback power converter and control method thereof

A control circuit for controlling a power supply circuit to provide power to a system device which includes a communication circuit includes: a pulse width modulation (PWM) controller configured to switch a transformer of the power supply circuit to generate a first output voltage; and a switched capacitor converter configured to generate a second output voltage according to the first output voltage. The second output voltage provides power to the communication circuit, wherein the communication circuit generates a power saving signal to control the PWM controller and the switched capacitor converter. When the power saving signal is enabled, the first output voltage is decreased and a duty ratio of the switched capacitor converter is increased.

Control circuit having power saving mode for use in power supply circuit

A flyback converter includes a power transformer, a primary side switch, a secondary side switch and a controller. A secondary side switching signal has an SR pulse for achieving synchronous rectification, and a ZVS pulse for achieving zero voltage switching. The ZVS pulse is enabled according to a first characteristic of a resonance waveform, whereas, a primary side switching signal is enabled according to a second characteristic of resonance waveform. When an output current increases, the primary side switching signal is disabled during an inhibition interval, such that primary side switching signal does not overlap with the ZVS pulse, thereby preventing the primary and secondary side switches from being both conductive simultaneously. The inhibition interval is correlated with a rising edge of the primary side switching signal in a previous switching period and a resonance period of the resonance waveform.

Flyback converter and switching controller circuit and control method thereof

A time interleaved analog-to-digital converter (TIADC) is provided. The TIADC converts an input signal into a digital output signal and includes N analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), a clock generation circuit, and a control circuit. The N ADCs receive the input signal and sample the input signal according to N sampling clocks to each generate a digital output code, N being an integer greater than or equal to 2. The clock generation circuit is configured to receive a working clock and a set of control values and to generate the N sampling clocks according to the set of control values and the working clock. The control circuit is configured to periodically generate the set of control values based on a pseudo random number and to output the digital output codes in turn as the digital output signal.

Time interleaved analog-to-digital converter

A resonant half-bridge flyback power converter includes: a power transformer and a resonant capacitor which are coupled in series between a half-bridge power stage and an output power; and a primary controller circuit controlling a high side power switch and a low side power switch of the half-bridge power stage. When the high side switch is OFF, the control signal of the low side power switch includes a resonant switching pulse for achieving resonant switching of the low side switch and a soft switching pulse for achieving ZVS of the high side switch. When the output power is lower than a delay threshold, the primary controller circuit determines a delay period which is between the resonant switching pulse and the soft switching pulse to control both the high side power switch and the low side power switch to be OFF. The delay period is negatively correlated with the output power.

Resonant half-bridge flyback power converter and primary controller circuit and control method thereof

A control circuit for a successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter (SAR ADC). The SAR ADC includes a comparator and a switched-capacitor digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The switched-capacitor DAC includes a target capacitor. A first terminal of the target capacitor is coupled to an input terminal of the comparator. A second terminal of the target capacitor is coupled to a first reference voltage through a first switch and coupled to a second reference voltage through a second switch. The control circuit includes a third switch and a buffer circuit. The third switch is coupled between the first reference voltage and the second terminal of the target capacitor. The buffer circuit is coupled to the first switch and the third switch for controlling the first switch and the third switch based on a control signal.

Control circuit for successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter

A flyback power converter includes a primary side controller circuit for controlling a primary side switch; and a secondary side controller circuit for generating an SR (Synchronous Rectification) signal to control an SR switch. The SR signal includes an SR pulse and a ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) pulse. The SR pulse controls the SR switch for synchronous rectification at the secondary side. The secondary side controller circuit samples and holds a voltage at a first end of the SR switch as a first voltage at a timing between the end of the ZVS pulse and the beginning of the SR pulse, and determines a length of the ZVS pulse so as to control the SR switch to be conductive for a ZVS time period, whereby the primary side switch achieves ZVS. The first voltage is proportional to an input voltage.
