A wireless communication arrangement () with multiple antennas for a vehicle includes a first printed circuit board () having a modem unit () and a radiating antenna element (); a second printed circuit board () having a radiating antenna element (); an interface unit () disposed on the first printed circuit board () and/or the second printed circuit board (); and a main bendable portion () bendably and electrically connecting the first printed circuit board () and the second primed circuit board () to each other. The first printed circuit board () and the second printed circuit board () are mountable on an outer surface of a vehicle in non-horizontal orientation with respect to said outer surface, with the first printed circuit board () and the second printed circuit board () forming a convex like shape in a horizontal direction via bending of the main bendable portion ().

Wireless communication arrangement

In relation to wireless communication, a communications apparatus suitable for installation into a vehicle provides a user-driven communication capability in a vehicle communications system. The apparatus includes means providing a wide-area communication capability, at least one antenna interface for conveying signals to and/or from at least one antenna providing wide-area communication, at least one power input configured to receive operating power for the apparatus from a vehicle and at least one digital communication interface for providing connectivity to a master unit of the vehicle.

Wireless communication apparatus and method

The present invention presents a method and apparatus for phase hopping and space-time coding signals for transmission on multiple antennas. The method and apparatus provides expansion of a N&times;N&prime; space time block code to a M&times;M&prime; space time block code, where M>N, by using phase hopping on the symbols within the N&times;N&prime; space time block code to allow transmission of the space time block code on a number of diversity antennas greater than N&prime;. A result of M antenna diversity may be achieved for M transmit antennas.
