An audio apparatus comprises a tuner for receiving broadcast waves; a digital reproducing unit; operation switches for operating the tuner and the digital reproducing unit; and a control unit for controlling the tuner and the digital reproducing unit in response to an operation of the operation means. In a first mode of operation, the control unit controls if an audio signal from the tuner is selected as a source such that the power of the digital reproducing unit is turned on, and wherein, in a second mode operation, the control unit controls if an audio signal from the tuner is selected as a source such that the power of the digital reproducing unit is turned off, alternatively if an audio signal from the digital reproducing unit is selected as a source, the power thereof is turned on.

A turntable is a table mounted to a shaft (4) of a spindle motor and the turntable supports a laminated disc thereon and drives the disc in rotation. The laminated disc includes a lower disc and an upper disc stacked on the lower disc, and is supported on a disc-supporting surface. When the disc is loaded on the turntable, a fitting member fits into the center hole of the laminated disc for centering the laminated disc with respect to the shaft. The fitting member fits the center hole of the lower disc when the laminated disc is supported on said disc-supporting surface. The turntable may include a tapered member which guides the laminated disc to the disc-supporting surface. The laminated disc includes lower and upper discs each having an edge which defines the center hole. The corners of the edges are cut away along a circumference of the center hole. The upper and lower discs are placed together so that the cut-away corner directly face each other.

A first aspect of the present invention is a dubbing system for copying information recorded on a first record medium to a second record medium. Character information corresponding to a program recorded on the first record medium is stored in a memory. When the second record medium is a blank disc, the character information recorded in the memory is copied to a management region of the second record medium corresponding to the program of the first record medium. A second aspect of the present invention is a dubbing system for recording start time, stop time, and radio station name of a desired program to the record management region when information received from a tuner is recorded to the second record medium by a timer record operation with a timer.

A radio receiver continues to demodulate a broadcast signal that was modulated with a baseband signal and a data signal to obtain the data signal after the receiver circuitry unassociated with extracting the data signal has been deenergized when the receiver is set in a predetermined mode. As described, the baseband signal has a program content, while the data signal identifies the program content of the baseband signal. In accordance with the present invention, the unassociated receiver circuitry is reenergized to output an amplified baseband signal capable of driving a speaker when the program content of the data signal indicates that a preselected program is starting, and again deenergizes the unassociated receiver circuitry when the program content of the data signal indicates that the preselected program is over.
