A hydrogen station loading control unit, which is capable of loading hydrogen vehicles with hydrogen, thereby promoting the wide use of hydrogen vehicles which are advantageous for the earth environment. The hydrogen station loading control unit communicates through a communication network with a plurality of hydrogen vehicles that drive with hydrogen in vehicle onboard hydrogen containers loaded at a plurality of hydrogen stations equipped with hydrogen loading units. The hydrogen station loading control unit includes a communication unit for receiving information relating to residual volume in each of the vehicle onboard hydrogen containers as transmitted by each of the hydrogen vehicles through the communication network, a data receiving function, a hydrogen vehicle DB which stores a regular hydrogen station for each of the hydrogen vehicles, a loading plan generating function for generating a loading plan for each of the hydrogen stations based on the residual volume information and a loading time setting & notifying function for transmitting the loading plan for each of the hydrogen stations through the communication network.

A gaseous fuel discharge structure is used in a vehicle including an airtight cover disposed within a trunk thereof. The airtight cover covers a gaseous fuel containing tank. The structure includes an air introducing pipe and a gas discharging pipe both connected to the cover. If gaseous fuel leaks from within the tank, the structure is operated to discharge the gaseous fuel out of the vehicle. The air introducing pipe is provided with a fan. The air introducing pipe has an air intake flap while the gas discharging pipe has a discharge flap.

A leak fuel gas discharging structure for an automobile includes a hollow reinforcement member extending between a floor panel and a wheel house and interconnecting an underfloor space and an internal space of the wheel house. The wheel house has a portion facing a filler recess and having an opening which through which the filler recess and the internal space of the wheel house are connected together. The filler recess is normally closed by a filler lid with a clearance defined between a peripheral edge of the filler lid and a peripheral edge of the filler recess. By the structure thus arranged, a fuel gas, leaking from a fuel tank disposed in the underfloor space, is discharged outside the vehicle body.

A fuel tank, a fuel reformer, a fuel cell and an electrical energy storage constituting the fuel cell system are installed under the floor of the vehicle in their order as viewed longitudinally of its body. Thus, the components of the fuel cell system are arranged in accordance with its progression. This arrangement enables the shortening of piping and electrical wiring interconnecting the components.

A pair of rear wheel suspension assemblies are attached to arm brackets provided on a fuel tank which is in turn mounted on a lower surface of a vehicle body by means of mount brackets likewise attached to the fuel tank. An inner frame is incorporated inside the fuel tank. To prevent any deformation of the fuel tank when excessive load is applied to the suspension assemblies, the mount brackets and the arm brackets are made less rigid and provided with less mechanical strength than the parts of the fuel tank at which these brackets are attached. Thus, the fuel tank in effect serves as a subframe so that the rear chassis system can better ensure sufficient mechanical strength and rigidity, and can be easily mounted on a vehicle body without sacrificing the capacity of the fuel tank and without increasing the weight of the chassis structure.

A subframe assembly for assembly as a unit to a vehicle body in which a subframe is formed of left and right side members disposed on the left and right of a fuel tank, and a cross member interconnecting the side members; left and right suspensions are mounted to the subframe and a vehicle member is disposed at a lower portion of the vehicle body and supported on the subframe. The subframe and vehicle member are assembled and the assembled subframe and vehicle member are then assembled to the vehicle body.

In an automotive subframe having a rectangular annular shape as seen in plan view, the longitudinal members have closed cross sections, but the lateral members open cross sections and are provided with open parts adapted to receive a flange projecting from the fuel tank. Because the lateral members have open cross sections, the subframe is capable of undergoing a twisting deformation relatively easily, and the sloshing movement of the fuel inside the fuel tank would not be directly transmitted to the vehicle body. Because the longitudinal members have closed cross sections, and therefore have a relatively high rigidity, the wheel suspension system can be securely supported without creating any possibility of changes in the wheel alignment. Furthermore, the open part of the lateral subframe member can conveniently receive the flange of the fuel tank, and it is possible to maximize the capacity of the fuel tank without causing any interference between the fuel tank and the lateral member.

Automotive subframe for supporting a vehicle suspension system

A multi-link type suspension system includes a knuckle for rotatably supporting an axle, an upper arm extending laterally of the vehicle body to connect the knuckle with the vehicle body above the axle, a leading arm extending outwardly and forwardly of the vehicle body from a rear inside position of the vehicle body to connect the knuckle with the vehicle body above the axle, a lower arm extending laterally of the vehicle body to connect the knuckle with the vehicle body below the axle, a trailing arm extending outwardly and rearwardly of the vehicle body from a front inside position of the vehicle body to connect the knuckle with the vehicle body below the axle, and a control arm extending laterally of the vehicle body to connect the knuckle with the vehicle body in rear of the axle. The longitudinal distance from an outer end of the control arm to an outer end of the leading arm is set larger than a longitudinal distance from an outer end of the upper arm to the outer end of the leading arm, and a longitudinal distance from the outer end of the control arm to an outer end of the trailing arm is set larger than a longitudinal distance from an outer end of the lower arm to the outer end of the trailing arm. Thus, it is possible to produce a toe-in during braking to enhance the steering stability.

Multi-link type suspension system

A wheel suspension in a road vehicle having a frame includes a longitudinal arm extending substantially in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and having a front end, a rear end, and an intermediate portion. The longitudinal arm also having, on the rear end, a member for supporting the wheel and, on the intermediate portion, a member for pivotally coupling the longitudinal arm to the frame. The wheel suspension further includes a guide assembly for controlling movement of the longitudinal arm in a transverse direction of the vehicle while allowing the rear end of the longitudinal arm to move substantially in a vertical direction. The guide assembly comprises a first lateral link having a first end coupled to the frame and a second end coupled to the front end of the longitudinal arm, the first lateral link extending substantially in the transverse direction of the vehicle, and a link assembly coupling the frame and the longitudinal arm to each other and cooperating with the first lateral link.

A actuating device for a vehicle, especially an automobile, in which an actuating device such as a hydraulic brake master cylinder and booster, is arranged to extend within an engine room at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the automobile body to fit in a restricted space and has its rear end portion protruding into the operator compartment. A pedal arm is supported on the rear end portion of said actuator by a hinge pin arranged in a plane substantially normal to the center line of the actuator, but is inclined with respect to a horizontal plane such that the moving locus of the foot pedal at the rear end of the pedal arm generally follows a longitudinal vertical plane to provide a normal motion for the operator's foot during movement.

A vehicle suspension system comprising a knuckle arm supporting a wheel, upper and lower arms connecting the knuckle arm to a frame of a vehicle body, and a radius rod and a stabilizer each having an end attached to the lower arm in the vicinity of an end thereof connected to the knuckle arm. The lower arm has an attachment aperture defined therethrough substantially longitudinally of the vehicle body. Either the radius rod or the stabilizer is coupled to one of upper and lower surfaces of the lower arm, the other being inserted in the attachment aperture and coupled to the lower arm therein.

The suspension includes a knuckle arm for supporting a steerable road wheel of the vehicle, an upper arm jointed at one end with the upper end of the knuckle arm and pivotably connected at the other end to a body frame of the vehicle, a lower arm jointed at one end with the lower end of the knuckle arm and pivotably connected at the other end to the body frame, and a shock absorber cooperating with the upper arm and the lower arm for suspending, through the knuckle arm, the steerable road wheel from the body frame. The upper arm has its position displaced longitudinally of the vehicle with a space left, and the shock absorber is disposed in the space obtained by the longitudinal displacement of the upper arm.

Suspension for vehicles

An integrated valve unit for a pressure control circuit which comprises a case, a drier wholely contained in the case, and a check valve formed and positioned in an inlet of the case having a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the case. The check valve includes a cylinder chamber formed in the case having two end faces and a side wall, a fluid inlet port formed in one of the end faces, a pair of discharge ports in the side wall longitudinally spaced from each other and opening into the case, an axially slidable piston inserted into the chamber, a biasing member urging the piston towards one end face having the fluid inlet port formed therein, and an elastic seal member fixed to the piston member. The piston is capable of selectably closing the discharge ports upon axial sliding thereof. The elastic seal member is capable of sealing the portion of one end face including the fluid inlet port as the piston member slides toward that one end face. The elastic seal member can be shaped as a cup-shaped member fixed to the inlet port end face of a cylindrical piston and can have a smaller area then that of the piston end face to which it is affixed. The difference in areas of the seal member and the face of the piston operates to provide a substantially instantaneous opening and closing response to the valve which effectively prevents chattering and vibration.
