A toothpaste-dispensing toothbrush includes a replaceable brush head, a pump head, a truncated dispensing platform attached with a spout, and a handle containing toothpaste. The brush head has a through hole and a stepped backside mating with the truncated dispensing platform by a set of latch mechanisms. The detachment of the brush head requires two steps by using two hands to rotate the brush head then push it off from the dispensing platform. The brush head is provided with an extended lever segment having a latch notch and the truncated dispensing platform has an extended neck portion having a neck post for engaging with the lever notch for additional locking. The stepped backside enables the brush head to brush back teeth with comfort. The applications of the replaceable brush head to a manual toothbrush and a toothpaste-dispensing electric toothbrush are provided.

Toothpaste-dispensing toothbrush with a replaceable brush head

A lab-on-a-cartridge (LOAC) handheld assay device including an integrated test cartridge, a carbon nanotube electrode sensor, and a reagent dispenser for dispensing a liquid reagent into the test cartridge. The test cartridge includes a syringe plunger for drawing a test fluid into a test cavity, a bottom wall with a reagent inlet port, and a vibration adaptor for mixing. The reagent input port is attached with a slit valve for engaging with a slit spout of the reagent dispenser as a needleless dispensing system. Carbon nanotube sensors of different three-electrode configurations are provided for testing a volume of test fluid to increase the electrochemical reaction sensitivity. The assay device can be used with a CNT three-electrode sensor for saliva testing for determining glucose concentration.

Handheld LOAC assay device with a needleless liquid reagent dispenser

A pump toothbrush having a toothpaste tube to dispense dentifrice material to top of bristle head is disclosed. The pump toothbrush has a pump head with a resilient button to create an internal vacuum force to draw the dentifrice material from the toothpaste tube. The toothpaste tube is supported by width-limiting fingers to prevent total collapsing of sidewalls resulting in blocking of its flow channel. A self-closing spout is used for preventing backflow. For a manual pump toothbrush the toothpaste tube has an oval-shaped shoulder for mating with the oval-shaped shoulder of a detachable handle for fastening the toothpaste tube by threads. For an electrical pump toothbrush, a detachable endcap connector is used for swinging out the toothpaste tube from its handle for replacement. A sonic vibration model uses rubber molding to minimize vibration on the handle. A dual-rotary model has two rotary bristle elements engaged by gear teeth.

Manual and electric pump toothbrushes with toothpaste tube

A shaving applicator device provided with a shaving lubricant dispenser and an applicator head for applying lubricant directly on skin without hand touching the lubricant. The applicator head consists of a flow channel shaft, a roller having two end wheels and a rubber sleeve having self-closing slits. Under a pumping pressure, the lubricant emerges from the slits to spread on the roller surface. Gliding the roller on skin surface can spread the lubricant on the skin evenly with predetermined thickness. The dispenser may contain shaving foam, gel or liquid. For shaving liquid, foaming meshes are installed in the flow channel shaft for generating foam. Additionally, a combination shaver including a shaving lubricant dispenser, an applicator head and a razor unit is provided. In the combination shaver the razor unit and the applicator head are positioned in parallel back to back with a clearance.

Shaving applicator device

The invention relates generally to implantable drug delivery devices. Devices having a single drug chamber configuration, a divided drug chamber configuration and a compact dual-drug configuration are described. The devices have features to prevent clogging of the dispensing catheter and the creation of a local vacuum caused by the dispensing of the drug fluid. Also provided are features of a failsafe refilling process, automatic refill notification, and performance verification process. The divided drug chamber configuration enables frequent or continuous minute doses. A dual-drug chamber configuration uses self-locking refill containers to prevent mismatching between refill containers and drug chambers.

Implantable drug delivery devices

Dentifrice dispensing electrical toothbrush comprising a driver-pump head with a dispensing platform, a replaceable brush unit and a handle having a battery and a cartridge containing dentifrice material. The replaceable brush unit includes a oscillatory brush element and a brush element having a circular or an elongated spout opening as well as a snap-on mounting bracket for fastening to the driver-pump head. The dispensing platform contains a flow channel and a self-sealing spout to prevent drying of the dentifrice material at the spout. The self-sealing spout opens and closes automatically during a pumping action. The brush element with a spout opening is detachably mounted over the spout fixed on the dispensing platform to allow for brush oscillation around the spout and receive the dentifrice material dispensed from the flow channel. Different drive mechanisms are used to impart rotary, lateral or longitudinal oscillation on a brush element in a brush unit.

Pump toothbrush comprising a pump head, a refillable cartridge containing dentifrice material, an integrated dispensing platform and a disposable bristle head. The pump head includes an inlet connector for attaching the cartridge, a pumping chamber attached with an elastic compressible button, and a dispensing platform. The dispensing platform contains a flow channel and a self-sealing slit-spout to prevent drying of the dentifrice material at the spout. The slit spout opens and closes automatically when the compressible button is pressed and released. The bristle head, which is the disposable part of the pump toothbrush, is attached to the dispensing platform for structural support and receiving the dentifrice material from the slit spout. Gum-guard elements are optionally attached to the periphery of the dispensing platform for massaging gums.

A sheet separating mechanism and a method of separating sheets that includes a retard surface carrier that causes a retard surface to apply an alternately higher and lower friction force against the edge of an underlying sheet. The alternation of the higher and lower friction force can be coupled to a vacuum sheet feeder. The retard surface can be translated to present a next portion of the retard surface to the edge of the next underlying sheet with the translation coupled to the vacuum sheet feeder.

Pump toothbrush comprising a refillable cartridge containing dentifrice material, a pump head having an elastic compressible button, and a brush head having a spout opening attached with a slit valve. The slit valve prevents backflow and drying of the dentifrice material at the spout opening. The slit valve opens and closes automatically with the pumping action. The dispensing mechanism and cartridge structure are applicable to manual and electrical pump toothbrushes.

Manual and electrical pump toothbrushes for dispensing liquid and paste dentifrices

This is a mechanical oil dispenser for use in applying an oil to the surface (or two surfaces in a duplex mode) of printed media to improve its sheet-handling characteristics. This dispenser system has an oil-containing housing or tank with oil ports at the bottom of the tank. The ports are abutting a wick, this wick then disperses oil to an applicator roll which in turn applies oil to one or both surfaces of a printed media. The oil ports and oil flow are controlled by the profile of a cam and shaft in operative connection to said ports. Opening and closing of these oil ports are controlled by a cam shaft movement actuated by the rotation and stopping of the applicator roll.

A single-pass bypass printing machine including: (a) a moveable photoreceptor belt for moving through an imaging path; (b) apparatus for supplying and feeding print media along a main media path and a bypass media path; (c) a first stage including at least three imaging subassemblies for forming a first color toner image on the photoreceptor; (d) a first transfer station for transferring the first color toner image onto the print media; (e) apparatus for diverting the print media from the main media path onto the bypass media path; (f) a second stage including at least one marking engine for forming a second color toner image on the photoreceptor; (g) apparatus for moving the print media from the bypass media path back into the main media path; and (h) a second transfer station for transferring the second color toner image onto the print media, forming a desired multi-color toner image on the print media.

Single-pass bypass printing method and apparatus

An electrophotographic printing apparatus includes a housing, a photoreceptor module located inside the housing that includes a photoreceptor, a raster output system located inside the housing for projecting an electrostatic image onto the photoreceptor, a charging station, a developer station, a transfer station, a pre-fuser transport, and a fusing station. The module may be removed from an operating position inside the housing. The transfer station is connected to the pre-fuser transport so that they are constrained to move as one unit when the photoreceptor module is in its operating position inside the housing but are disconnected when the photoreceptor module is removed from its operating position inside the housing. The transfer module may be mounted so as to be constrained by a pre-fuser transport.

Transfer assembly and a method for mounting

A photoreceptor module located within a housing. The photoreceptor module includes a photoreceptor belt, a belt support to maintain the belt in a desired configuration, and a transfer assembly. The transfer assembly is operably positioned in close proximity to the belt, and may be moved away from the belt while both are within the housing to ease clearance of paper jams.

A handheld diagnostic device having a test head and a handle is equipped with an open test channel having sensors and liquid reagent dispensing opening for the diagnostic testing of body fluids. The test channel can draw in fluid sample by capillary force and be closed by a channel cover for mixing the fluid sample with liquid reagent for electrochemical reactions for providing measurement signals for diagnostic analysis by a microprocessor included in the handle. A vibration means is added for stimulating the production of the body fluid sample and for assisting mixing of the sample solution. A renewable biosensor having a reusable electrode system and a dispensing means for providing a new dose of liquid reagent is included in the test head for repeated uses of the test channel and the biosensor. A dual-dispensers system having two reagent cartridges and two dispensing lines is included for simultaneous or selective dispensing of reagents for multiple diagnostic testing. The handheld device can be used for the self-diagnostic testing of saliva, body fluid, blood and vagina fluid for home healthcare and for monitoring predetermined components in a pourable fluid. For vagina fluid applications, a handheld diagnostic device may include cream or foam dispenser for dispensing vagina medication material, lubricant, or spermicide.
