The disclosed guidewire includes a wire main body possessing an elongated shape and a cylindrical body possessing a cylindrical shape. The distal portion of the wire main body is positioned in the cylindrical body. The guidewire has an inner coil disposed between the wire main body and the cylindrical body. The inner coil includes a wire rod wound in a spiral shape along the outer circumferential portion of the wire main body. There is an interval between the wire rods adjacent to each other in a longitudinal direction of the wire main body that is adjustable. The guidewire also has an operation member that changes the interval between the wire rods of the inner coil.

Guidewire

A guide wire has a wire body; and a distal side coating layer that covers a distal portion of the wire body. The guide wire has a cylindrical member that has an outer diameter substantially the same as an outer diameter of a proximal portion of the distal side coating layer, that encircles a portion of the wire body and that has a distal portion positioned proximate the proximal portion of the distal side coating layer; and a joint member that is disposed at a proximal side of the cylindrical member and joins the cylindrical member and the wire body. The joint member has a gradually decreasing outer diameter portion whose outer diameter gradually decreases toward a proximal side of the wire body, and an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical member has a surface continuous with the gradually decreasing outer diameter portion.

Guide wire

A guide wire includes an elongated wire body having flexibility; a distal member that covers a distal portion of the wire body and is configured to have a resin material; and a hydrophilic lubricant layer that is formed so as to cover a proximal end of the distal member and is configured to have a hydrophilic material. In addition, the hydrophilic lubricant layer has a tapered shape whose outer diameter gradually decreases toward a proximal side. In addition, the maximum outer diameter of the hydrophilic lubricant layer is smaller than the maximum outer diameter of the distal member. In addition, a proximal portion of the distal member has a tapered shape whose outer diameter gradually decreases toward the proximal side, and a distal end of the hydrophilic lubricant layer is positioned at the tapered portion of the distal member.

A guide wire includes an elongated wire body exhibiting flexibility, a distal side coating layer that covers a distal portion of the wire body and is made of a resin material, and a tubular member through which the wire body passes and possessing a distal portion positioned in the vicinity of a proximal portion of the distal side coating layer. A plurality of melted portions which are concavely deformed toward the wire body side by melting are formed in the tubular member. The tubular member is fixed to the wire body by bringing the melted portions into press-contact with the wire body The plurality of melted portions is irregularly formed along an axis direction of the tubular member.

A guide wire is comprised of a flexible elongate wire body. The wire body has a plurality of protruding portions n the external surface and recessed portions between the adjacent protruding portions. The protruding portions possess a friction coefficient smaller than that of the recessed portions.

A guide wire includes: a flexible elongate wire body; and a coating layer that covers a distal portion of the wire body and is formed of a resin material. The wire body of the guide wire is provided with a projection that protrudes along the entire circumference of an outer circumferential portion of the wire body. A distal portion of the projection is in contact with a proximal portion of the coating layer, and the maximum outside diameter of the projection is larger than the outside diameter of the coating layer that is in contact with the projection. In addition, a proximal portion of the projection has an outside diameter tapering portion where the outside diameter is gradually reduced toward a proximal end.
