A connector (), into and from which a connection object () is insertable and removable, includes an insulator () including an insertion portion () in which a connection object () can be inserted and a first contact () mounted on the insulator (). The first contact () includes a contact piece () and a resiliently deformable resilient portion (). The contact piece () includes a contact portion () configured to be connected to a signal line () of the connection object () in a fully inserted state where the connection object () is fully inserted in the insertion portion () and a removing portion () located closer to an insertion opening () of the insertion portion () than the contact portion (). The removing portion () is configured to be connected to the signal line () in a partially inserted state where the connection object () is partially inserted in the insertion portion (). The removing portion () is configured to be apart from the connection object () when the resilient portion () is resiliently deformed in the fully inserted state.

A connector () according to this disclosure includes an insulator () into/from which a connection object () can be inserted/removed and an actuator () capable of rotating between a closed position where the actuator closes relative to the insulator () and an opened position where the actuator opens relative to the insulator (). The actuator () rotates from the removal side to the insertion side of the connection object () with respect to the insulator () when moving from the closed position to the opened position and holds the opened position independently.

A cable connector that can, when an external force in a curling-up direction acts on a cable inserted in an insulator in a state where an actuator is in a closed position, prevent the cable from disconnecting from the insulator in the curling-up direction without deformation or breakage of the connector. A cable connector includes: an insulator () into which a sheet-like cable () is removably insertable; a contact () supported by the insulator; a rotatable actuator (); and a fixed metal fitting () fixed to the insulator. The fixed metal fitting includes a cable press piece () extending from a part of the fixed metal fitting and facing the cable. The cable press piece is plate-like. The insulator includes a facing portion () facing a tip part of the cable press piece from a side opposite to the cable at least when the actuator is in the closed position.
