A computer-implemented method is provided for enabling virtual gameplay. Access is provided to at least one video game in which a player is able to interact with the video game according to a storyline. A player location is detected and stored. A local element is retrieved from a database based on the player location and the local element is correlated to a local element script actuatable in the video game. This local element script is retrieved and actuated in the video game to supplement or replace the video game's storyline.

Systems and methods for capture and use of local elements in gameplay

A spice dispensing device is provided for an automatic meal preparation apparatus. The device uses a replaceable cartridge containing a volume of spice for dispensing in predetermined volumetric doses. A dispensing mechanism is built in to the cartridge for isolating the predetermined volumetric dose and moving it toward an opening in the bottom of the cartridge. The cartridge is sized and shaped to be placed into the automatic meal preparation apparatus in a rack for containing a plurality of such cartridges. The cartridge is alignable with a position in the rack in which the spice dose can be dispensed directly into a cooking vessel of the apparatus.

A stent system is provided for stenting a bifurcated vessel structure having a parent vessel and a daughter vessel. The stent system has a parent vessel stent and a daughter vessel stent. The parent vessel stent has a substantially tubular body that is configured to be deployed into the parent vessel. This body has an angular flap that is openable to extend into the daughter vessel. The daughter vessel stent has a substantially tubular body that is configured to be deployed through the flap in the parent vessel stent into the daughter vessel. The daughter vessel stent has an angled tail portion that is configured to overlap with the flap of the parent vessel stent when both stents are deployed in the vessel structure. A method of stenting using this system is also provided.

Bifurcated stent and delivery system

An automatic meal preparation apparatus is provided which has a top section with compartments for raw food and at least one spice/sauce cartridge; a middle section with a cooking vessel; and a bottom section with a heating element. The sections are stacked in series within a housing. The compartments of the top section are disposed above the cooking vessel. The cooking vessel is in communication with the heating element. A controller receives a selection of a recipe from a user, and executes instructions of the recipe to selectively heat the heating element at certain times, and selectively dispense at least a portion of the raw food and a pre-determined measure of spice/sauce. The apparatus stirs and cooks the food and the spice/sauce in the vessel for a specified duration, in accordance with the recipe.

A method is provided for prioritizing rule creation for computer-assisted customer care. When a question from a user of a device is received by a customer care analytics engine for which no rule is automatically fired, the question and a related device profile of the device are added to an unfired questions list. The analytics engine parses the question to match terms in other questions in the list. The question is also added to an appropriate category in the list based on the device profile. A prioritization algorithm is used to rank the question among other questions within the list or the category, ranking the question more highly according to the frequency of those terms in the category or the list. According to its rank-wise order, the question is directed for creation of a rule to permit automatic handling of questions having the same or similar terms in the future.

A method is provided for markerless injection of content into an augmented reality scene by use of a mobile device. Through the mobile device, a camera feed of a scene is acquired, which includes a flat surface. A key frame of the flat surface is selected from the feed. After determining that the flat surface in the key frame meets a predetermined level of feature richness, digital content is injected by superimposing text, graphics, video content over at least a part of the key frame. The digital content can be viewed and interacted with by the user of the mobile device. In one embodiment, the digital content is an advertisement.

A method is provided for determining a reference device profile. Device profiles are gathered from a plurality of devices having at least one characteristic in common. Each device profile has a plurality of parameter values. The device profiles are compared according to at least one device health metric. Parameter values associated with an optimum value of the device health metric are identified. Using these identified parameter values, a reference device profile is compiled. A method is also provided for enabling a target device to be conformed with a reference device profile.

A method is provided that uses a server to dynamically configure software applications on an electronic device. Information is received from the device about the device (e.g. device OS, firmware version, make and/or model, etc.). The server determines based on the device information a set of capabilities of the device. The server then sends code for installation on the device to configure at least one of the software applications based on the determined capabilities of the device. A programmed server is also provided.

System and method of dynamic configuration engine for electronic devices

A method is provided for detecting a body part in a video stream from a mobile device. A video stream of a human subject is received from a camera connected to the mobile device. The video stream has frames. A first frame of the video stream is identified for processing. This first frame is then partitioned into observation windows, each observation window having pixels. In each observation window, non-skin-toned pixels are eliminated; and the remaining pixels are compared to determine a degree of entropy of the pixels in the observation window. In any observation window having a degree of entropy above a predetermined threshold, a bounded area is made around the region of high entropy pixels. The consistency of the entropy is analyzed in the bounded area. If the bounded area has inconsistently high entropy, a body part is determined to be detected at that bounded area.
