One embodiment relates to a method performed by a converged personal network service (CPNS) enabled entity. The communication method comprises a step in which the CPNS enabled entity transmits a request message for instructing performance of a discovery procedure to a first PNE which belongs to a first network if a second PNE which belongs to a second network is not found in the coverage of the first network at the state where the CPNS enabled entity is established as a gateway for managing the first network; a step in which the CPNS enabled entity receives, from the first PNE, a response message; and a step of transmitting, based on the response message, a bridge request message for requesting that the second PNE operates as a bridge for interconnecting the first network and the second network, to a second gateway which manages the second network.

One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for communicating with another device using a first device having a converged personal network service (CPNS) enabled entity. The communication method comprises: a step for determining whether the mode of the CPNS enabled entity needs to be changed from gateway mode to coupling mode; and a step for changing the mode of the CPNS enabled entity from the gateway mode to the coupling mode, according to the results from the step for determining. When changed to the coupling mode, the CPNS enabled entity operates in personal network entity (PNE) mode to receive from the second device data for service of a second network, and the gateway mode to transmit the received service data to at least one of the entities that belong to a first network managed by the CPNS enabled entity. The communication method can include a step for controlling the synchronism of the CPNS enabled entity operating in the gateway mode and at least one of the entities, considering the synchronism of the CPNS enabled entity operating in the PNE mode and the second device.

The present invention relates to a method for calculating trip paths determined by a departure point and a target point by using traffic information in a terminal. The method includes the steps of: requesting traffic information related to a trip from a server; receiving the traffic information related to the trip from the server; and calculating the paths by using the received traffic information, wherein the received traffic information includes traffic events corresponding to information on disturbances in the traffic flow in an area or the path related to the trip, and performance parameters corresponding to information on traffic flow in a road segment within a constant radius from the departure point, and wherein the performance parameters can be received from the server in the case where there is congestion heavier than a predetermined level within a constant radius from the departure point.

The communication method includes: receiving a discovery request message including information regarding a mode of a second device; transmitting a discovery response message including information regarding a mode of a first device; receiving a gateway change request message for requesting mode switching to a combined mode from the second device; transmitting a gateway change response message with a result for the requesting to the second device; and changing the mode of the first device to the combined mode if the first device accepts the requesting, wherein the combined mode is a mode in which the first device operates as both a gateway of a first network and a member of a second network simultaneously.

The present invention relates to a method in which a personal network element (PNE) forming a PN requests a converged personal network service (CPNS) to set up a new personal network (PN) on the basis of PN usage information. The method is performed by the PNE and includes: transmitting, to a PN gateway (PN GW), a message requesting the generation of PN usage information on a currently set PN; and receiving a generation response message including the result of generating the PN usage information corresponding to the generation request message. The PN usage information is created by the CPNS server on the basis of the generation request message and is stored in a PN usage information list of the CPSN. The PN usage information includes a PN usage information index, a PN alias, an expiry, a PN identifier (ID), a PN GW ID, and a PNE ID. The method further includes: transmitting, to the PN GW, a message requesting the setting of a PN using PN usage information corresponding to a new PN, in order to set the new PN and not the currently set PN; and receiving, from the PN GW, a message responding to setting the PN including a response to the PN setting request message, wherein a PN inventory of the CPNS server may be updated by the CPNS on the basis of selected PN usage information.

Provided is a method for requesting to add an adminee and to assign a PN (personal network) admin and changing information about the adminee in a personal network (PN). The method may be initiated by a PN element which desires to be the PN admin and change the information about the adminee or a PN gateway in the PN. If the PN element initiates the method, the PN element can request assignment of the PN admin to a CPNS (converged personal network service) server when a result of requesting addition of the adminee for another PN element is successful. Also, the PN element which has become the PN admin can request change of specific information about the adminee to the CPNS server when a result of requesting to change the specific information from the adminee is successful.

The present invention relates to a method for communicating with another device through a first device having a Converged Personal network Service (CPNS) enabled entity. The communication method includes receiving a search request message including information regarding the mode of a second device when the CPNS enabled entity of the first device, set in the gateway mode, moves into the coverage area of a second network managed by the second device. The communication method includes: when it is confirmed that the CPNS enable entity of the second device is set with a gateway on the basis of the mode information, confirming whether there is at least one available PNE in all coverage areas of the first network and the second network; and determining whether to change the mode of the CPNS enable entity of the first device on the basis of whether there is at least one available PNE, as well as whether to change the mode of the second device. The present invention provides, in one embodiment, a method for detecting another device performed by a first device having a converged personal network service (CPNS) enabled entity. The method for detecting another device comprises the steps of: performing a procedure for a physical connection with a second device, if the CPNS enabled entity within the first device is set to a personal network entity (PNE) mode; and receiving a search request message from the second device, in order to prevent the duplication of information between the CPNS enabled entity and the second device. Preferably, said search request message can be used to obtain one or more pieces of information, among the mode information of one or more devices detected while the procedure for the physical connection is performed and the information on a network to which one or more said detected devices belong.
