A drum washing machine includes a tub and a drum rotatably supported in the tub and implements a control method that allows the tub to be easily cleaned. The method of controlling the washing machine includes supplying washing water during a first water supplying step to the interior of the tub while the drum is rotating at a water-supplying RPM; and executing a first wash step following completion of the first water supply step by accelerating the rotation of the drum from the water-supplying RPM to a first-wash RPM so that a circulatory flow is created in which the washing water falls from the top of opposite ends of the tub while circulating along the inner circumferential surface of the tub due to the rotational power of the drum.

Drum washing machine and method for cleaning tub thereof

A drum washing machine implements a control method, allowing a tub of the drum washing machine to be easily cleaned. The method includes supplying washing water during a first water supplying step to the interior of the tub while a drum rotatably supported in the tub rotates at a water-supplying RPM. A first wash step is executed following completion of the first water supplying step, and includes accelerating rotation of the drum from the water-supplying RPM to a first-wash RPM to that create a circulatory flow in which the washing water falls from the top of opposite ends of the tub while circulating along the inner circumferential surface of the tub due to the rotational power of the drum. A wash draining step is started during the first wash step, and includes turning on the drain pump and controlling the amount of the washing water in the tub.

Method for controlling washing apparatus

A washing machine that performs a washing course by heating wash water and a control method thereof are provided. The method includes supplying wash water up to a wash water level for generation of steam such that a portion of laundry received in an inner tub is saturated by the wash water. The wash water level may be above a bottom surface of the inner tub and below a wash water level for main washing. Disclosed is a washing method in which an inner tub or a pulsator is operated in various ways to achieve reduced abrasion of laundry and enhanced washing performance. Washing method

Control of a laundry treating apparatus, in which a drum is controlled to accelerate to a first rate of rotation and then decelerate from the first rate of rotation to a second rate of rotation. A deceleration time taken for the drum having accelerated to the first rate of rotation to be decelerated to the second rate of rotation is determined and at least one of a dryness level and a percentage of water content of laundry received in the drum is determined based on the deceleration time. A determination is made as to whether the laundry in the drum includes water-filled laundry based on at least one of the dryness level and the percentage of water content of the laundry and dehydration drying of the laundry in the drum is controlled based on the determination of whether the laundry in the drum includes water-filled laundry.

Method for controlling laundry treating apparatus

Disclosed herein is a control method of a washing machine which minimizes damage to laundry to be washed. The control method includes executing a washing cycle to wash laundry to be washed by supplying wash water, dissolving detergent in wash water and washing the laundry, executing a rinsing cycle to rinse the laundry by draining wash water, spin-drying the laundry, and rinsing the laundry, and executing a spin-drying cycle to spin-dry the laundry by draining wash water and spin-drying the laundry, wherein the dissolving of the detergent is carried out at a water level lower than a predetermined reference water level.
