An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided that efficiently inject a refrigerant into a compressor. The air conditioner may include a compressor to compress a refrigerant; a condenser to condense the refrigerant compressed at the compressor; an evaporator to evaporate the refrigerant condensed at the condenser; and an injection module to selectively or simultaneously inject some or a portion of the refrigerant flowing from the condenser to the evaporator into a high pressure side and a low pressure side of the compressor.

An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided that inject a refrigerant into a compressor to perform a defrosting operation. The air conditioner may include a compressor; an outdoor heat exchanger; an indoor heat exchanger; a first injection module that injects a refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger into the compressor during a heating operation and that does not inject a refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger into the compressor during a defrosting operation; and a second injection module that injects a refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger into the compressor during the heating operation and that injects a refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger into the compressor during the defrosting operation.

A scroll compressor and an air conditioner including a scroll compressor are provided. The scroll compressor may include a main frame configured to support an upper portion of a rotating shaft; a fixed scroll coupled to the main frame and having a first wrap; an orbiting scroll provided to perform an orbiting motion with respect to the fixed scroll and having a second wrap which forms a plurality of compressions chamber between the first wrap and the second wrap; a suction port configured to enable a first refrigerant to be suctioned into the compression chamber; a first introduction port provided at a first side of the fixed scroll and configured to inject the first refrigerant into the plurality of compression chambers; a second introduction port provided at a second side of the fixed scroll and configured to inject a second refrigerant having a pressure different from a pressure of the first refrigerant into the plurality of compression chambers; and a third introduction port provided at a third side of the fixed scroll and configured to inject a third refrigerant having a pressure different from the pressure of the first refrigerant and the second refrigerant into the compression chamber. The first introduction port may be provided at a position at which injecting of the refrigerant through the first introduction port is able to be performed before suctioning of the refrigerant through the suction port is completed.

Scroll compressor and air conditioner including a scroll compressor

An air conditioner includes a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, a converting unit, a first injection module, and a second injection module. The first injection module injects a portion of refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger to the compressor in a heating operation and supercools refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger in a cooling operation. The second injection module injects a portion of refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger to the compressor in the heating operation and injects refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger to the compressor in the cooling operation.

An air conditioner includes a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, a converting unit, an accumulator, and injection module, a supercooling valve, and an injection valve. The injection module expands and vaporizes a portion of refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger in the heating operation. The supercooling valve is disposed between the injection module and the accumulator and is opened to direct the portion of the refrigerant vaporized in the injection module to the accumulator in the heating operation and then closed after a predetermined time passes. The injection valve is disposed between the injection module and the compressor and is opened when the supercooling valve is closed in the heating operation, thereby injecting the portion of the refrigerant vaporized in the injection module to the compressor.

Provided is an air conditioner. The air conditioner includes a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, an evaporator, and a supercooling device configured to supercool a refrigerant passing through the condenser. The supercooling device includes a supercooling main body in which the refrigerant passing through the condenser and a refrigerant to be injected into the compressor are introduced, a first passage disposed within the supercooling main body so that the refrigerant passing through the condenser flows in one direction, a second passage disposed on a side of the first passage so that the refrigerant passing through the condenser flows in the other direction, and a third passage in which the refrigerant to be injected into the compressor flows, the third passage being heat-exchanged with at least one of the first and second passages.

The scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll including a first wrap, an orbiting scroll disposed to have a phase difference with respect to the fixed scroll, the orbiting scroll including a second wrap defining a compression chamber together with the first wrap, a suction part to receive a refrigerant into the compressor chamber, a driving shaft to transmit a rotation force to the orbiting scroll, a first injection part disposed in one position of the fixed scroll to introduce a refrigerant into the compression chamber, and a second injection part disposed in another position of the fixed scroll to introduce a refrigerant into the compression chamber, where the second wrap is disposed on the orbiting scroll such that the first injection part is opened to introduce the second refrigerant before the receipt of the first refrigerant through the suction part is completed during the orbiting of the orbiting scroll.

Scroll compressor and air conditioner including the same

A heat pump including at least two refrigerant injection flow paths into a scroll compressor and a main circuit. The main circuit includes a scroll compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve, a phase separator, and an evaporator for evaporating refrigerant. The scroll compressor is provided with a first refrigerant injection port between an inlet of the scroll compressor and an outlet of the scroll compressor, and a second refrigerant injection port between the inlet and the first refrigerant injection port. A first refrigerant injection flow path is bypassed from the phase separator. An internal heat exchanger is installed between the phase separator and the evaporator. A second refrigerant injection flow path is bypassed between the phase separator and the internal heat exchanger. The second refrigerant injection flow path is passed through the internal heat exchanger.

Heat pump including at least two refrigerant injection flow paths into a scroll compressor

A heat pump according to the present invention comprises a plurality of the compression chambers, and compresses refrigerant with multistage, and injects vapor refrigerant into the space between the plurality of the compression chambers by using the first refrigerant injection flow path and the second refrigerant injection flow path. Performance and efficiency of the heat pump can be improved compared with non-injection, as flow rate of the refrigerant circulating the indoor heat exchanger is increased. Thus heating performance can be improved also in the extremely cold environmental condition such as the cold area by increasing the injection flow rate. Also, because the heat pump according to the present invention comprises the first refrigerant injection flow path and the second refrigerant injection flow path, refrigerant is injected twice. Thus, as the injection flow rate of the refrigerant is increased, heating capacity can be improved. Also, the difference between the suction pressure and the discharge pressure of the rotary compressor may be decreased, and thus the reliability and the performance of the rotary compressor can be improved.
