In wireless communications, an access point may send a first frame to multiple stations. In one aspect, the first frame may include resource allocation information for uplink multi-user transmission. In response to the first frame, one or more stations may measure the channel characteristics associated with the first frame and send a second frame(s) for uplink multi-user transmission, where the second frame(s) includes resource preference information associated with the respective station(s). The access point may then generate and transmit a third frame based on the resource preference information. In another aspect, in response to the first frame, one or more stations may send a second frame(s) spanning the channel bandwidth supported by the respective station(s). The access point may measure the channel characteristics associated with the second frame and generate and transmit a third frame based on the measured channel characteristics. Other methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

A method for operating a user equipment (UE) includes detecting that a beam failure has occurred, and based thereon, transmitting a first beam failure recovery request (BFRR) message at a first transmit power level on a first channel resource in a channel with a transmit power control mechanism configured to set the first transmit power level different from a first non-BFRR transmit power level of a first non-BFRR message transmitted on the first channel resource in the channel.

System and method for OFDMA PS-poll transmission

Embodiments are provided for indicating response frame types according to response frame durations in a wireless network. The embodiments include defining a plurality of response frame types in accordance to different transmission durations. The different response frame types are assigned corresponding indication values. When transmitting a current frame to a receiver entity, a transmitter entity selects a response frame type from the defined response frame types, and indicates in the current frame the selected response frame type using the assigned indication value. When a third entity receives the current frame, the third entity waits for a time period about equal to a predefined inter-frame and backoff time before transmitting a new frame. Upon determining that the indication value in the current frame is for sending a response frame, the third entity also waits an additional time period about equal to the transmission duration of the indicated response frame type.

In an embodiment, a method in a wireless network component for packet relaying includes transmitting a first data packet comprising data to a relay station, wherein the first data packet comprises an identification (ID) of the target wireless device wherein the data packet is intended for a target wireless device, wherein the relay station is configured to forward the data in the first data packet to the target wireless device without sending an acknowledgement back to the wireless network component; receiving a second data packet transmitted by the relay station; and determining whether a receiver ID of the second data packet corresponds to the target wireless device, wherein the wireless network component considers the transmission successful if the receiver ID of the second data packet corresponds to the target wireless device.

Systems and methods for packet relaying

In an example of wireless communications, an access point may send a downlink frame to multiple stations. The downlink frame may include information indicative of a cyclic prefix length to be utilized by the stations. In response, some or all of the stations may transmit their respective uplink frames to the access point. A cyclic prefix for a portion of each respective uplink frame may have a cyclic prefix length corresponding to the information included in the downlink frame. The downlink frame may be, for example, a beacon frame or a trigger frame. A trigger frame may allocate resources for uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission. In an embodiment, a method in a wireless access point (AP) for identifying channel quality between a first and second group of STAs associated with the AP includes transmitting a first packet to the first group of STAs, wherein the first packet comprises information on measurement time window within which the first group of STAs is to measure a received signal; transmitting scheduling information to the second group of STAs, wherein the scheduling information indicates a time to send a reference packet during the measurement time window; and receiving a measurement report from the first group of STAs after the measurement time window, wherein measurement report includes information on received signal quality at the first group of STAs of a signal transmitted by the second group of STAs.

Systems and methods for nearby channel measurement

A method for operating a first device includes transmitting a conflict query frame including a first address field containing a first locally assigned identifier associated with the first device, wherein the conflict query frame further includes a second address field and has a structure of a first legacy frame, and determining if a conflict notification corresponding to the conflict query frame is received within a specified time interval after transmitting the conflict query frame. The method also includes discontinuing use of the first locally assigned identifier if the conflict notification is received within the specified time interval, and continuing use of the first locally assigned identifier if the conflict notification is not received within the specified time interval.
