A bifacial solar cell includes a silicon substrate; an emitter layer; a plurality of first electrodes locally on the emitter layer; a first aluminum oxide layer on the emitter layer; a first silicon oxide layer between the first aluminum oxide layer and the emitter layer; a first anti-reflection layer on the first aluminum oxide layer; a back surface field layer on the silicon substrate; a second aluminum oxide layer on the silicon substrate; a second silicon oxide layer between the second aluminum oxide layer and the silicon substrate; a second anti-reflection layer on the second aluminum oxide layer; and a plurality of second electrodes respectively on the back surface field layers through the second anti-reflection layer, the second aluminum oxide layer and the second silicon oxide layer.

A method for fabricating a solar cell, includes forming an emitter layer by doping a first impurity having a second conductivity type, opposite a first conductivity type, on a front surface of a substrate having the first conductivity type; forming a back surface field by doping a second impurity having the first conductivity type on a rear surface of the substrate; and forming a plurality of front finger lines in contact with the emitter layer and a plurality of rear finger lines in contact with the back surface field, wherein the emitter layer has a selective emitter structure, the back surface field has a selective back surface field structure, and the number of the plurality of rear finger lines positioned on the rear surface of the substrate is different from the number of the plurality of front finger lines positioned on a front surface of the substrate.

A bifacial solar cell includes a substrate formed of a silicon wafer having an n-type conductivity; an emitter region positioned on a front surface of the substrate and having a p-type conductivity; a front negative fixed charge layer on the emitter region, and a front positive fixed charge layer on the front negative fixed charge; a plurality of first front electrodes extending in a first direction and connected to the emitter region through the front negative fixed charge layer and the front positive fixed charge layer; a plurality of second front electrodes extending in a second direction crossing the first direction and electrically and physically connected to the plurality of first front electrodes; a back aluminum oxide layer and a back silicon nitride layer on a back surface of the substrate; a plurality of back surface field regions extending in the first direction and locally positioned on the back surface of the substrate; a plurality of first back electrodes extending in the first direction and directly positioned on the plurality of back surface field regions through the back aluminum oxide layer and the back silicon nitride layer; and a plurality of second back electrodes extending in the second direction and electrically and physically connected to the plurality of first back electrodes, wherein the front negative fixed charge layer and the back aluminum oxide layer have the same thickness.

A solar cell is disclosed. The solar cell includes a substrate of a first conductive type; a plurality of emitter layers having a second conductive type opposite the first conductive type, the plurality of emitter layers positioned in a first surface of the substrate and extended in a first direction in the first surface of the substrate; a plurality of surface field layers having the first conductive type more heavily doped than the substrate, the plurality of surface field layers positioned in the first surface of the substrate and extended in the first direction in the first surface of the substrate; a passivation layer positioned on the first surface of the substrate and including a plurality of first openings exposing portions of each of the plurality of surface field layers and a plurality of second openings exposing portions of each of the plurality of emitter layers; a plurality of first electrodes positioned in the plurality of first openings and contacting the plurality of surface field layers; a plurality of second electrodes positioned in the plurality of second openings and contacting the plurality of emitter layers; a plurality of first conductive members positioned on the plurality of first electrodes; and a plurality of second conductive members positioned on the plurality of second electrodes.

Solar cell and solar cell module

A solar cell and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The solar cell includes a substrate, an emitter layer at a front surface of the substrate, a first anti-reflection layer on the emitter layer, a back surface field layer at a back surface of the substrate, and a second anti-reflection layer on the back surface field layer. The first anti-reflection layer and the second anti-reflection layer overlap may each other.

A method for manufacturing a solar cell includes forming an emitter layer on a first surface of a substrate, forming a back surface field layer on a second surface opposite the first surface of the substrate, forming a first anti-reflection layer on the emitter layer, forming a second anti-reflection layer on the back surface field layer, and forming a plurality of first electrodes each including a first metal seed layer and a first conductive layer on a plurality of first contact regions of the first anti-reflection film and a plurality of second electrodes each including a second metal seed layer and a second conductive layer on a plurality of second contact regions of the second anti-reflection film, the plurality of first contact regions being partially formed at the first anti-reflection layer and each having a first width.

Method for manufacturing solar cell having electrodes including metal seed layer and conductive layer

A method of manufacturing a solar cell according to an embodiment includes the steps of: forming an emitter layer by ion-implanting a first conductive type dopant to a first surface of a semiconductor substrate; and forming a back surface field layer by ion-implanting a second conductive type dopant to a second surface of the semiconductor substrate. When an additional dopant is a dopant other than the first and second conductive type dopants, an amount of the additional dopant doped during the forming the back surface field layer is larger than an amount of the additional dopant doped during the forming the emitter layer.

A solar cell is provided comprising a substrate, a first insulating layer on a first surface of the substrate, the first insulating layer having a plurality of first openings that expose portions of the substrate, and a plurality of first electrodes electrically connected to the substrate through the first openings, wherein one or more of the first electrodes are configured so that a width of an upper portion located on the first insulating layer is wider than a width of a lower portion located in a corresponding first opening.

Bifacial solar cell

A solar cell and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The solar cell may include a substrate, an emitter layer positioned at a first surface of the substrate, a first anti-reflection layer that is positioned on a surface of the emitter layer and may include a plurality of first contact lines exposing a portion of the emitter layer, a first electrode that is electrically connected to the emitter layer exposed through the plurality of first contact lines and may include a plating layer directly contacting the emitter layer, and a second electrode positioned on a second surface of the substrate.
